This is an ancient thread but I cannot say enough about the need for legalized mj. Alcohol is far worse and responsible for far more deaths and ruined lives. Although not as often as in my college days, I still use, enjoy, and gather relief from mj. I'm happy that it is now medically acceptable where I live. I grew up in a family full of drunks that were abusive and neglected their responsibilities to those that they supposedly loved. I don't see this behavior from mj users even though I'm not offering that as an excuse. Merely a better option. After all, I often wonder how my family would have acted if they could have smoked mj as they did cigarettes and not abused alcohol. So be it. It is what it is...
