I am so sorry to hear that you are suffering like this. Please consider gene-testing to identify the AD that will work best for you. It's available almost everywhere now. It involves a simple cheek swabbing. Then your DNA sample is mixed with many different AD's to see how they metabolize. Insurance companies have been fairly quick to cover it because they know that it saves them money in the long run. Medicare covers it 100%. It can save you so much trial and error. What people, including doctors, forget is that MDD is an emergency. Patients do not have the luxury of hanging out to see if something will work for them. Gene-testing will greatly hasten the process of identifying the right AD for an individual. I hope that you will give it a try. Regards, RM

First time I heard about it.  You know if it is expensive ?  You need a doctor to authorize this gene-testing ?

There is a home version that anyone can buy, but it costs $450 and insurance won't pay anything toward it without doctor authorization. It's put out by NorthShore and is called "MedClueRx". The one typically used in doctors offices is by "GeneSight". They will not divulge their price. The only thing they say is if they receive your sample, and its going to cost more than $330 to process, they will tell you first. Huh? Insurance companies are all over the place on the coverage. Gene testing for future cancer, heart disease, etc has been available for decades. No great market for it because few people want to know ahead of time if they are going to get cancer down the road. But gene testing for AD's can be invaluable. It can actually save you money in the long run because trial and error with AD's can be expensive and even deadly. I predict full insurance coverage happening by the end of this year or some thereafter. RM
