I work part time in a kratom shop and I have seen the substance do wonders for people...especially in regard to opioid withdrawal. Each strain can have different effects on different people but for the most part a good rule of thumb is to think about it like a stoplight. Red strains are going to be more sedative/ pain relief, greens tend to be more energizing but can still have pain relieving properties, and the yellows are somewhere in between.
There is a huge heroin epidemic where I’m from and I have seen many people switch to kratom successfully. With that being said it can be extremely addictive (I see it first hand everyday). But better to have a kratom addiction than heroin addiction in my opinion.
Also for those using kratom, beware that there has recently been a salmonella outbreak in certain states so be careful. All the best!
