But if new evidence is presented that makes it so they can charge him with a slightly different crime, double jeopardy does not apply. Having said that, I'm sure his 100 lawyers researched all the possible charges and lesser includeds and came to the conclusion that there is nothing the PD can charge him with that they haven't already tried. But wow. Confirmation on what we all knew.
I remember being in middle school at the time and lots of the different ethnicities either cheered or were down because of the verdict, when in reality, we were all too young to understand the case. It was definitely a racially-charged time after the comedown from the civil rights movement and the stupid 3 strikes rule that was obviously made to target people of different races. Crazy times. That's not even counting the crazy judge.
