Lag when typing/tablet use

Now that I think of it, uninstalling and reinstalling the browser was what finally solved the problem I was having. I believe I was using Firefox at that time.
Chrome is a great browser!
I hope you will post back, I am also interested to know if  any of this fixes the problem.
Best to you...

I installed Chrome.  Experienced the lag a few times.  One thing I am noticing is it occurs more often when I quote someone.  Like right now it is lagging.  But I just typed a longer quoted response and it was fine.  Used my laptop and no lag on any posts.  So, it is something on my Ipad2.  Ipad2 is like five generations old at least.  I aprreciate the time and suggestions forme and admin of Stee

Thanks for posting back, and Im sorry to hear that did not fix the problem.
Every device i own runs linux, my first and last apple was a macintosh, lol.

Curious how it behaves just running a word processing app w/spell check. and also wondering if there is some kind of net
framework update you are missing.

I see the latest is 4.5 and above, but I am running 3.5 with wine and have not had any problems yet
Im not familiar with IOS, is there a way to run a file check to be sure there isn’t a corrupt file, or file the browser cannot access?

PCmechDOTcom has always been a pretty good place to find an extreme geek willing to help, "Morris Windgate" may or may not know apple, but could steer you in the right direction if he is still there.
Been getting help from them guys since the early 90's.

I'm 100% positive it's the Ipad2 old tech and the newer boards software.  It only occurs here and sporadically.  But IOS you can't get into the registry, files, etc without jail breaking the iPad, which I won't do because then I can't get updates for the IOS or access the App Store (if I read about jail breaking correctly).  Just a little annoyance I will have to deal with or just pull out the laptop instead.

Jail breaking must be similar to rooting an android. I was going to get a new Android phone so figured I would go ahead and root the old one for fun, ha, kept the old one, and I love it so!

The asus zenpads allow root access via apps. that is one strong running tablet if you ever see a decent price.
My well meaning oldest Son bought some cheap crappy little Amazon kindle tablet for his little sister, (my youngest). It was a joke, and thank the good lord, it got hot as heck when we charged the battery so I had a good excuse to return it.
Got online and ordered her an Asus Zenpad 8.0" and that little bugger is ridiculous fast no matter how many malware infested kiddy games she downloads. She sits there playing flawlessly with another 10-15 windows open with games and other apps running, lol.

All I have had to do to keep things going is occasionally click a button that automatically cleans up trash files and  evaluates and chooses which processes need to run on startup, based on how often the apps are used. Its incredible, and the reviews were like 4.8 stars and over 1000 reviews at that time.

I see Ipad2 next gen for sale for like 150.00 - 160.00.  That Zenpad was 312.00 but they had them as low as 249.00 last I saw.
Highly recommend this for anyone wanting a wicked little  250-300.00 tablet that runs like the big dogs.
Sorry for the ramble buddy, best to you...

Apple has been notified by many companies and i guess been taken to the court for slowing up old devices on iOS9. So its not you alone experiencing the issue. I tried posting through my old iPhone 4S running iOS 9.1.2 and yep, The lag was unbearable. So its basically the OS that is causing the device to function this way. I have only only good suggestion left for you. Restore your device as a new device from iCloud or from the Restore Factory Settings and after you have done that only install what is most necessary. The device would feel light as a feather.  Wink

Asus does make good tablets, But what teases me is that Android is highly vulnerable to viruses compared to iOS or OSX. I have used Kindle and ZenPad as well. But, Still you can use only these for high profile gaming or other things. If you are looking into serious security then better get something using Blackberry OS or Apple OS.

I guess an android phone with an OS closer to the PC versions would offer more security?
You see I am making up for a certain lack of knowledge with this theory that making it simple to install apps to the phones and tablets has left them more vulnerable to trojans and key loggers that would either need the help of a human, root access and an installer that would be easily detected and killed by an antivirus app?

I’m curious if you know anything about the new linux kernel for small devices that Torvalds has been bragging up over the last few months. I have been seeing a lot of hype from linux developers and Linus Torvalds himself, he talks like a man who has the world by the nuts.

Marshmallow was the last android distro i am aware of, and I dont hear any bragging about that OS in fact according to the download count, most people are sticking with what they have. This might be a smart one to avoid as it will likely not have much support from developers when there is a new kernel to play with.
If i look at getting a tablet I will definitely give the Blackberry and Apple a good look. i appreciate you sharing your knowledge friend!

Now that you mention it Admin of Steel often times I'll be on a webpage reading an article and it will crash.  A little prompt on the top of the screen will appear saying "there appears to be a problem loading this website" or something very similar and it reloads.  And, now that I've had the lag issue I think the crashes occurred once I got on ios9.  And I waited about two months before I donwloaded ios9 because there's always glitches when a new version comes out.

And anyone worried about malware and Andriods Avast! provides great virus/spyware protection for free (also for PC's).

Yes avast will run on linux, but I have yet to come across anyone experienced with linux who would recommend running antivirus of any kind, personally I have never had any trouble.
In the microsoft days I basically spent the better part of every weekend removing malware , trojans and worms from my kids (now adults) pc's.
But personally have never had any problems and have been running linux distros since redhat.
I can see where there May be problems with these OS's designed for small devices just from all the changes that have been made to simplify UI for the general public.
We are talking about two different things though, Linux for small devices is likely no better than Microsft due to changes that have made it more user friendly to the general public. Soon there will likely be a price tag and the same crappy support all the other  proprietary software has. Windows servers and all kinds of scary things, lol.

Stock androids i think called Nexus Phone are way better than those having those Bloat-ware installed by companies to make it look more fashionable. And if you ask for a system OS Ubuntu is what i have been dealing with and it has been good for me. I never tried other flavors of Linux therefore don't know much about them. Torvalds i guess is something they made up like Siri or Cortana. But still, Every thing has a flaw somewhere. If you are looking for something more secure better try loading Linux OS on a tablet if it is possible. Ubuntu does offer OS for Tablets' PC's and Mobiles. Save your self from the daily trojans and malwares.
