Safe mail has been known to cooperate with LE and does not require a warrant, from what I've heard. I recommend tor and a darknet email. A free one I have used is called mail2tor.com and people can write you with or without using tor. The operators don't even know your IP since its on the tor network. You can likewise send to anyone. The best thing is its free.

You are 1000% correct and I realized that as of late. Thanks for the tip. Safe mail has been down for a week now. They posted on there page that they will be deleting 250,000 accounts due to term agreement violations. How would you interprete that? I'm assuming they mean people who are involved with illegal activities.

I do have protonmail, and I had to wait at least two weeks for my account to be activated, and I a rarely if ever use it. I subscribe to the belief that if anyone wants something bad enough they will get it. With so many millions using regular email, I mainly use regular email just blend in as though there is nothing to hide in the first place. I have heard that maybe 10% of the entire internet is actually indexed. Thus the "dark/hidden web" Don't quote me on that.

EasyDoesit, they now store everything. They just built a huge data storage complex in utah for that very purpose. It is said to use over a million gallons a day of water, for what I have no idea. The nsa just vacuums up everything and stores it.

Kdizz, that does not surprise me. I urge everyone to download tor and use it for sensitive activities. Also download pgp and learn it. Pgp takes a slightly longer learning curve but its worth it. Tor is basically set it up and go, very little learning involved. The lay low strategy works as long as they have enough big fish to meet their quota. If they can't catch the big fish, they will take a basket of little fish instead. Lets hope its not our turn when they start doing that.

All cops and le in general go for the low hanging fruit. They are not interested in spending loads of resources to catch a small user but if all they have to do is reach out and grab, they will take them. Your bottle of 60 pills makes you a kingpin and big distributor, you know how they love to lie. Make yourself the hard to get apple on the tree and they will be filling their baskets with the people who think no one will bother with them.

Grandote

For what very purpose? Where I live they are very busy trying to catch people committing the homicides, then other violent crimes, it is a big deal right now, as they have officially overstepped in the public eye. Do not get me wrong, as they'll snag something small who is really flaunting, but there are thousands of people out here on social media showing off all kinds of things.

Grandote , I read that article a couple years ago on the storing everything and then if they want you can go back and search out everything about a certain thing and pull it out then.

Kind of like crime prediction in reverse.

Or I figure if they want to blackmail you they go in there and get some dirt on someone you care about if they cant get it on you and then volia your toast.

I figure we would really be surprised how much they really know.

Yea I've been learning more about the pgp which is a little confusing.lol. The other suggestions you made I already use on top of using a vpn. We can never be too safe. Thanks for the suggestions. I'm definitely going to have to get better with the pgp encryption.

Linville, as far as blackmailing you later on, we have one thing in our favor. Evidence gets stale pretty quickly. For instance, if I said I had 1000 benzos and was selling them, and posted a photo of them, that could get a warrant for searching the house, car, whatever if they go after it the same day. But, a week later and that is much weaker and the judge may not give the warrant. A month later and the judge very likely will not give the warrant. A year later its so stale there is little value in it.

Thats another reason to use a proxy, or vpn, tor, pgp, and whatever else you have. By the time they figure out where the post came from the evidence is stale so they don't even bother. It goes back to not being low hanging fruit. They have so many other things to deal with, as EasyDoesit said, they don't have time for difficult cases. The cop has to show results or he gets put back on parking patrol. His bosses don't care that he worked very hard to bust an older person with a forbidden drug, they just see one bust that took weeks or months while the other cops got 5 or 6 in the same time period. Politicians pay close attention to that too, better to take an easy bust and pretend they were a kingpin than to work long hours on a tough one that they may never solve.

When they see pgp, they give up on thatk, or tor either one. They know they will not be able to crack it. When they see a proxy or vpn used, they usually give up because they have to go through channels to find who sent it and evidence gets cold. Just making things a little bit more difficult for them works in your favor. Does the detective want to spend all day finding your ip from the proxy, then tracing that to an address, and trying to figure out who at that address did it or does he want to reply to the fool on craigs list selling his prescription? The fool is easy pickings, the guy with the proxy will probably be too tough to catch. Use a vpn that doesn't keep logs and even if they decide to make an example of you, they run into a brick wall.
