I peered out upon the harbor.

My comrades were waiting for the signal.

Overseas commerce had become a dangerous endeavour.

Privateers offered contracts they had no intent to fill.

The Royal Navy attacked shipments in transit.

The people suffered.

In our safe harbor, the captains were eager with hope.

I crested the ridge, to the place where I would hang my signal.

The kerosene flame howled in the winds.

The highest point of visibility, who knew how many necks craned to see.

I opened the lantern side, tossing a handful of boric acid in.

The waves jumped to life with flashes of emerald.

And I cried out to the night:

"Let us not forget, there is hope."

Looking forward to hearing how all turned out, Allegory (also great, poetic post from a few days back)! I was about to make a purchase, but was hesitant because I haven't read too many reviews as of late.

Edit to add that I'm curious to hear everyone's review within the confines of the forums rules, of course. ? I'm hoping to make a purchase soon, but am  still a bit nervous  about this one. It has everything I am in need of though.
