Anxiety and Caffeine

L-Theanine, a legal supplement is very popular to take along with caffeine as it blunts some of the effects. A lift wihtout the jitters.

My caffeine tolerance increases and decreases, not sure why. When caffeine is hitting me too hard, I always take l-theanine with it.

See i have L theanine, and found it quite nice. mild and short acting in my opinion, haven't combined the supplement with caffeine yet might do so tomorrow with green teaSmile

From my research and not much of it L thn affects all three receptors, increasing gaba most then serotonin and small amounts of dopamine. Now from my understanding it does not work by enhancing the effects of the neuro transmitters. But by selectively increasing the amounts of them circulating in the brain, which are then absorbed rapidly.

anyway ill upload more about L supplement in a few days as its interesting and im tired now so will talk gibberish

Different strokes for different folks! I used to love coffee but it makes me so irritable and crabby nowadays along with increased anxiety. Instead I drink decaf coffee or tea and a teaspoon of creatine for the energy boost. Feels much less jittery.

Yes L theanine is sold in abundance on Amazon.
I may try it with some coffee today as its just a supplement, and see if it does anything for the anxiety

I wouldn't expect much from it though, as I got a bottle of them 6 months ago and had no desire to reach for it again Sad
Perhaps I'll give green tea plus L theanine a shot

Same, I had to layoff the coffee myself. It's a bummer I love drinking it, but if I absolutely have to or need it I'll go with tea. And well when I do drink coffee it's very good coffee, so if I'm the least bit anxious or sometimes not even anxious at all it will ramp up my anxiety. I finally quit drinking it in the morning about 4 months ago and find it's a lot better for my mood / anxiety levels overall. Sadly I do miss it.

I tend to agree- coffee makes me agitated. Now I drink chamomile tea.
