What's the secret to your chilli? I slow cook mine and add a tiny bit of coco powder. It's funny what extra ingredients give a meal a special kick. Like I have a curry where I cook part of it with a tea bag in the saucepan. You'd NEVER guess there was tea in it, but it adds a special something.

Anyway, do you use real chillis, or dried/powder? I love a good chilli so I'm always trying to steal other people's recipes! :-)

Now I'm thinking about eating the jar of jalapeños in my fridge... Tongue

I LOVE the idea of cooking a tea bag in with the curry. I'm definitely going to try that!

I make a black bean, cumin and orange chili--it always disappears!  It might sound strange, but the combination is so delicious.  (I used dried chili powder.)

Hi Barq.....hmmmmm, giving up my secrets.....OK, vaguely. LOL

Three different kind of meats
And Like Mr. Fussbudget....I use cumin....quite nice in moderation (two tablespoons)
Two different kind of beans....black and kidney.
and the secret of all secrets is a carrot based habanero sauce that is as tasty as hot sauces get.....I cheat on the spicy part.
and I use dried chili powder for coloring.

The tea bag and the orange....interesting, I may try them.

Yes, and the cumin is really good for you too.

I've used a little chocolate in my chilli and nobody can believe it's what makes it taste so rich...yum!  Wink

BBQ ribs and potato salad. Interestingly enough a new BBQ place ooened up and they use the same recipe for their potato salad that I do.

In honor of this threads title 'favorite food' I would like to post directly.

I may not have tasted my favorite food yet.  I've never had a Prime dry aged bone-in ribeye steak or a true Kobe or even Wagyu Steak..

I'd have to go with Medium Rare Prime Rib with a nice crust (perfect au jus and horseradish) accompanied by a nice lobster, double baked potato fully loaded, and fresh homemade Caesar salad (gotta have some roughage!).

Footballking, we have very similar tastes!

For the past few weeks I’ve been craving a giant lobster tail with a loaded baked potato...of course I’ll have to take a loperamide first as my GI tract has never been forgiving with seafood, lol.

Not having much of an appetite lately (my appetite is significantly impacted by even minor levels of stress) so recently I go to something light: bowl of pho fills me up and lifts my spirits too. I’d swear that Vietnamese pho broth has more healing properties than chicken soup.
