Was it a random thought to cross the random thought off your list or did you plan it in advance, Pops??

My random list changes randomly so the only way I can cross anything off it, is to act randomly, and since I don't usually act randomly, I have to wait for a random moment to remind me to randomizeSmile

Well, here's an old one, but always fun if you've not heard it.

"All general statements are false, including this one."

Thanks Charon,

I hope you are drying out effectively.  In fact that wacky paradoxical statement is often used in school to introduce problems in the structure of language--semantics.  Ironically--as a law person you know this--we can make language that our brains can't quite deal with.  Not really sophistry, more to do with how it is we can talk ourselves into a corner, even when remaining logically valid and consistent.  I was never a fan of the field, too much ivory tower, "Glass Bead Game", same for linguistic analysis.  The long neglected area of philosophy called ethics--mainly confused universally with "morality"--is making a comeback, as people must now grapple with the "morality" of everything from abortion, to who to kill on a grand scale, and how to justify it--ethics.  As a minister, it might be thought you would have less problems with such notions.  My experience with friends who have true faith, is that they have more.  But, of course, for me, you can't get too worked up.

I always cleave to a quote from Will Durant, who, with his wife Ariel, still hold the record for the most definitive encyclopedia of world history.  It's for reference, that work.  But, he did write a short book afterwards called "The Lessons of History".  That, I read.  And the quote, from that little book:

"One of the lessons of history is that 'nothing' is often a clever thing to do, and always a clever thing to say."

Just checking in .... been kind of a weird day.

I stayed up late on Friday and awoke early-ish on Saturday morning.  Then I fell back asleep till around 2:00 pm.  I had a bad case of the slows, and I had a mandatory shop visit to make.  I made that visit in time before the store closed.

Then my husband took me to a clothing store I love, and I found several lovely pieces.  We stayed past closing time, I kept apologizing but the salesperson wouldn't hear of it.  Another customer was shopping as well, but she didn't seem concerned about keeping the staff past closing.

Afterward, we went out to a Chinese bistro for dinner.  We had a lovely meal with leftovers.  Then we had a leisurely drive home, with classical music playing in the car.  It was romantic and relaxing.

I had some work to get done regarding my store visit, and I realized that I couldn't print from my computer.  My husband got very upset at the malfunction, even though I said it wasa huge rush to fix.

Heven said he would stay up all night to fix it, if he had to.  Fast forward two hours, and the printer issues are fixed.  But we are both keyed up and not sleeping.  Then, I got hungry again.

My husband fixed me waffles and bacon, which were delicious.  Now I am hoping that I can stay up long enough to hit Costco when they open at 10.  Three more hours to go!! Smile
