Breacher, I had the exact same issue with WU a few years ago while trying to transfer funds to a formerly popular vendor (now on the Blacklist here, I see). Same message from WU: "WU business decision". That was the only time it has happened to me, though, and I have sent my fair share of WU transfers over the past few years, both online and in person at the WU station at the grocery store.
I tried MG in person a few times (to different destinations and receivers) at an MG location (a Fedex store, I think), and they turned down the transfer each time, after making me get on the phone with an agent and answer questions, so I haven't bothered with them since. WU continues to be no problem, regardless of where I'm transferring funds to - The "WU business decision" problem has only happened once, and that was at least three years ago...seems to have been an isolated incident. I hope yours is the same, and you're able to either complete the transfer somehow or make other arrangements.

Never once had a problem or rejection from MG..... Just saying

I have been having online troubles with WU, never before, and all that i have tried was denied online. I am just going to wait to the first of the month go to a location that's busy as hell. Should not be a problem. They always seem to go through in person. Has anyone been denied in person ? I have not heard any truthful stories

Stereo-typically? If so eventually every foreign action would be denied and WU would go under < which is not going to happen >(03-27-2016, 03:58 PM)themadhatter420 Wrote: I have been having online troubles with WU,  never before, and all that i have tried was denied online.  I am just going to wait to the first of the month go to a location that's busy as hell.  Should not be a problem. Flagged could be numerous reasons: over used, too many transfers in one day, over the limit, too many transfers in 1 day from different countries, unverified personal info. Just a few.

Agree with JohnKing - I'm pretty sure this is all automated in WU's system, they undoubtedly have algorithms in place to flag receivers with the same name, location, and "secret code" phrase when that information is duplicated a certain number of times, or when a certain amount sent ceiling is reached. It is a fairly common occurrence (for me, anyhow), and the vendors always respond with a new receiver name and code phrase when I inform them of the problem - That's resolved it every time.

Am sorry to hear that Breacher...I've never experienced or read of that severe a problem with WU. I wish I could offer any help or suggestions, but I don't know anything about WU's decision making process, so I'd just be guessing - Which isn't much help!
Thanks for keeping us updated, and I wish you the best of luck in resolving these issues or finding a way around them. |
