HA! Today might be my lucky day. I was in my moms room going thru things and came across an old wallet of hers. It had some old credit cards and stuff inside, so I took it all out and lo and behold, there was a $100 dollar bill inside. YIPPIE!
Sure glad I checked it before I threw it out.

Now, on to see what other little surprises I might find. Maybe tonight I might win the power ball. Smile

Hey Cricket, have you heard of the tiny house craze?  It's a tv show too.

Anyway, some of the houses are not that tiny and pretty nice!  They are inexpensive and can be 'parked' or set up many different places, including trailer parks.

If you watch the show don't see a really tiny one and think I am insane for bringing it up.  Truly some are not so tiny!

Just an idea, probably a silly one.

This is unbelievable! I just found out I won $100 on the Power ball last night. Looks like MAYBE my luck is changing Big Grin
Yesterday was a good day. Found a $100 and won $100. Wish it was more, but this is my 1st winning of anything in the lotto.

Cricket's chirppin' a bit today.

Cricket,
That is so cool. A hundred here, a hundred there and before you know it maybe you will find or win what you need to make life a little easier. When my dad passed, I found money in almost every suit jacket pocket I put my hand in. When my mother passed we found money in old purses, old coffee cans, mostly change but when we were done it added up to like $300. It was as if, both our parents left it there for us to find, in case we needed it and wanted us to know they were thinking of us. Our mom had some real gold jewelry, that me, my kid brother and his wife did not really care for. My brother took it to a trusted jeweler friend of his and sold it to be melted down. Gold was like $1600 an ounce. So don't overlook things like that and assume that it is costume jewelry. Back in the day, I am sure some of the pieces we found were bought for like $35 per ounce or less. Some of it definitely looked like costume jewelry and some of the costume jewelry looked real.

My parents were not wealthy people, but the price of things were not so over inflated like they are now.

One more thought. Is it possible for you to rent your townhouse and have an additional income that more than covers the mortgage payments, insurance and property taxes until the house is paid off? Just a random thought. I just feel your pain about never having the townhouse as a place to live again. I am one of those people who is always trying to fix things before I accept the inevitable.

Hang in there, Cricket, you have a lot of us pulling for you. R.

Hi everyone,

Just checkin' in so you won't forget me LOL.

Haven't had any "visitors" in a week. Kinda glad in a way cause I'm able to get more done, but it won't sell if no one comes to see. It's looking like it's gonna be a hard sell mostly because of my smoking. Oh well, get over it people.

I haven't come across anymore goodies yet, but I'll keep on looking into EVERYTHING just in case my mom left any other little treasures for me to find. My pups are very happy tho. I came across a box full of doggie toys that were in a box in the garage. Don't know how long they've been there but they are in good shape. I'm sure the puppy will have the stuffings out of them soon tho.

So, just wanted to stop by and say hi. I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Later gators

Going along with Rumor's search for alternative solutions, have you thought about getting a roommate?

It would have to be someone who is ok with smoking or does smoke, and also likes dogs.

Might work out well and you could really be helping someone who needs a home.

Rumor, my mom was big on hiding $ and jewelry in coffee cans too.

Hi Fire and Rumor,

I have thought about the roomy thing but decided it might not be a good idea. You have to be so careful these days and tho the person that would move in might be fine, you just never know about their friends. There are some crazy people out there and I just don't like the idea of a stranger living in my home. Besides, I wouldn't be able to run around in my birthday suit anymore LOL. Oh God, what an awful thought that was.
I like living alone anyway. Don't think I'd be able to charge enough to keep up the mortgage and taxes and insurance anyway.
Thanks for the ideas. Keep 'em comin'. Who knows, you guys might come up with answer.

Peace

Thanks Rumor. I could use all of the good wishes and luck I can get.
Had a showing today, but they didn't stay very long. Guess that's not a good sign. There's GOT to be someone out there that will want it. I HOPE!

Have a good one my friend. Smile

Hi Cricket.

It only takes one, remember.....and a few years back I went thru selling and remember spending every weekend there and more painting and all .

In the end I called an individual back and said i would accept an offer they made but I had turned down which made them very skeptical as i would have been.

But i told them the truth that time was money in my case and it was 4 or 5 thousand less, I think and I also deducted a siding repair that I had an estimate on....

Anyway good luck, Cricket
