Back on the heroic decades of 80 and 90ies phenobarb and amobarbitals were the queens of the race. Valium was like a light cola in frond of the real thing , it is only the memory we older now have of them and the rough times we had when we were totaly numb and unable to go home especially when you had a beer or two in combination. One thing was for sure. Qualudes is the great memory of the past . I dont miss at all all the rest but meth@qualone was the king of weekends so majical on disco's night fever. I wish it was still here sitting in the throne. Then the l@razepam and zanies came to hold the scepter and dominate the kingdom of restless nights.
If someone want to taste Pheno for the experience then it's ok. Nowdays you cant stick to it. I wonder what we will have in the future maybe 20 years from now when benzos will belong to the tales of the old ones. Pharma companies will produce more potent more addictive stuff and more expensive stuff to ensure their profits. An the show will go on.

Yeah, I've played around with that pheno from that site, and it's not really recreational and in high doses just lulls you into a coma. Also causes an itchy rash all over. Not a good anxiolytic and. Dry dangerous.

Valium hands down? I guess this question is regarding benzo tapering/reduction of dose. I did it partially back then with my psychiatrist, I was on 2mg bid clonazepam and I got sick of it, clonazepam is very strong on the temporal lobes and is the strongest one, especially with 2mg (also 1mg) pills that 4mg a day made me feel like a dull emotionless zombie, I would watch CNN, bad news of any kind is a trigger for panic attacks for me, especially the serious international ones, I felt nothing when Fukushima happened...so I asked for a valium taper, but at first he told me, why don't you go to the detox clinic, it's free. I told him "You surely know what they use in rapid benzo tapers, phenobarbital, for a week, no matter how addicted you are, it's been compared to torture".

Only Valium or Librium (chlordiazepoxide) should be used for tapering down or entirely getting off. But we were going too fast, not following the speed that Dr. Ashton the worldwide authority on benzo tapering. Now that I'm taking 20mg a day, when I feel ready, thanks to the 5mg and 2mg valiums, I will be able to start taking 19mg for a week or two, then 18mg... etc.

At first to equal 4mg of clonazepam, I had to take 60mg of valium everyday for a week (with his taper we agreed on that could be stopped if I got uncomfortable, which I did when getting under 20mg and falling to 15mg a day the next week...was too fast, but it's okay, it will make the 1mg removal part easier, when I am ready for it (when some life circumstances I need to change but I can only do so in a couple years, so in the meantime, I need something to keep my sanity, I was always a nervous insecure kid with insomnia in grade 3 and on.

I will get corvolol (russian med that is a liquid with phenobarbital and a strong valerian root extract in it too...by the way, word from the wise, do not attempt to use Valerian Root Extract pills for weening yourself of your benzos, valerinic acid tosses out benzos from the subreceptors of GABA-A...causing the obvious...it will seem like a godsend the first dose you take without benzos but when you wake up you will be an anxious mess waking up from a nightmare that had you grab your mattress with both hands.) when I get to a very low valium dosage, 5mg and less, and yes, I will be taking 1mg valium one day hah, thanks to the 2mg pills I never saw, but I know exist, my aunt is prescribed 10 or so a year because she takes the plane a lot and has fear of flying, 2mg for her is enough with a drink from the flight attendant to make her sleep away liftoff which honestly is the scariest part of being in a plane (I got a massive fear of heights, and also I can endure the plane liftoff, but it's like an amusement park big russian mountain type of feeling, all that gravity pushing against you and the noise. I guess the fact I'm already on a valium (and bromazepam, my psychiatrist doesn't know, my GP scripts it to me, 6mg twice a day, the only worthy dosage of bromazepam (12mg up to 18mg), the 3mg pills make me laugh, although I wish they made me fall asleep like the guy I used to buy pot from a long time ago was prescribed.

Anyway, phenobarbital is extremely weak. My dad's dog who has seizures needs to take some. It's the only barb still sold in Canada along with butalbital (in Fiorinal, with codeine or not).

"Itchy", sounds like there might be a lot of codes in there, rather than pheno

I think your first statement is spot on. Valium is much safer, and if it helps your condition, there is no good reason to switch to pheno. BUT, I think you are underestimating the utility and strength of pheno. It is used for rapid benzo tapers because it prevents (possibly life threatening) seizures. Benzo w/d with only pheno to calm your nerves is torture, but so is barb w/d with only valium to calm you. So I don't think these are fair ways to judge the strength of a drug. Pheno is a very strong drug. Not to be underestimated. Stronger than valium in most ways. But given the option, I would choose the valium for sure.
