Inositol?
#1
I did a search, and it looks like this hasn't been discussed here. Has anyone had any luck with inositol for depression/anxiety? I started taking it, but am not sure it is really working. Others' stories much appreciated!

I am taking 6 grams, along with a good multivitamin (prenatal) and calcium with magnesium. I don't have any other prescriptions that I take daily.

I g00gled it and was surprised at the myriad of conditions with which it may help.  Seizures, hair loss,  leg cramps, and others.

How did you hear about it batgirl?

I heard about it through googling natural depression remedies. I recently had a baby and have experienced mild PPD, but am leery of using ADs due to previous bad experiences with them. The usual supplements, 5 HTP and St. John's Wort, haven't been effective for me. I came across inositol and read rave reviews. I also struggle with low blood sugar, and it is supposed to be useful for that. I think the inositol is helping. I take it in the morning on an empty stomach.

Hi batgirl and relaxme,
I have cycled myself on and off with Inositol to treat depression.
I would stir 10 grams into my morning coffee or tea (empty stomach).
No notable side effects, and unfortunately I did not notice any relief for anxiety or depression.
cheeers!

Thanks, I did not know it.
About alternative, are you breast feeding ? if so, the list of things you can take will be shorter.
Thanks

I am sort of breastfeeding. My milk never fully came in, so we are using formula also. Nevertheless, I have to be careful with what I ingest.
