Excellent post Pop.  That "things you didn't do" includes of course things you didn't say.  In early days I would be reluctant about doing or saying--I'm not talking about telling people off, the "wish I'd said"s in that category; that always happens, ha.  I mean not saying for fear it might no work out the way you might want or expect.  Now, I try and say the things I feel that count.  Like Twain implies, just let it fly.  Saying or doing has its own value, puts the flavor into life, what comes from it shouldn't figure into whether or not you should say a thing in this context.  IMHO

Yours is nice too Spankster.....I particularly try not to hold back on compliments. Now when I see a beautiful smile, I often comment on it.....people just light up when a stranger acknowledges them.

Most wonderful quote .. And advise ... Speaking from my experiences, no truer words have yet to be spoken ... I just bet 'Clemens" was one heck of a guy ...

The best is yet to come ...

So, I'm walking back to the RV park, after turning over my p.o. box keys in prep for pulling out in the morning.  Railroad tracks separate my park and a Safeway from a frontage road.  On the other side of the tracks was a young homeless guy.  Usually they're pushing carts or maybe have a backpack unless they live around here.  This guy looked to be in his twenties, just that sh**-out-of-luck age in the America that Donald will make great again.  So, he was loaded down, carrying some cardboard, the only reason for which I have to figure was to make a bed.

He was also leading a dog.  A little weenie dog mix with short legs.  The dog all of a sudden stopped and laid down.  Not sick looking, just probably wondering where they were going, and probably tired.  The guy tugged gently on the leash once or twice, then just reached down, picked the dog up, and walked on.

I wish that guy was running for president.  Wish that guy had the power.  Like Cricket and others have brought up, this country deserves what it gets.  I listened to Bill Clinton expressing the fact that he was just a regular guy the other night.  He talked about how tough it had been for him and Hillary to come up with the money to pay the taxes on their "houses" when he first took office.  How many "houses" does a person need?

Anyway, that guy picking up his dog was one of the better things I've seen lately.

Yesterday I had to go to PVA office and show SSD award letter so I could save A Lot on my home's taxes (Homestead Act)

I parked as close as possible but still long way - choice between 2 big flights of outdoor stairs or walking up hill to front of building.
Became so difficult, I began to sing.  I do that when it's really bad and I'm distracting myself.  I was singing a hymn I like.
Inside I was praying for His help to get this necessary task done.

Suddenly a blonde haired lady appeared at my side asking if I  needed help.
Guess what her name was?  FAITH
I asked her if she was an angel in disguise sent to help me and she laughed

Then another man came to ask if I needed help - he moved my car to space in front which had become vacant - he walked on other side of me from FAITH in case I fell, opened doors etc   Told clerk to get me a chair, gave me glass of water to let me rest.
The man helping me - his name is ADAM

The adjusted property tax paper had to be taken elsewhere (of course) to actually pay taxes.
This kind gentleman offered to drive there and meet me to help, said he didn't have to be at work for another 2 hrs.

I was pleasantly surprised when he offered to take papers inside for me and learn amt I owed.
THEN he took the tax paper and check back inside for me, returned with my receipt.

It reminded me of when I was the one helping people and able to make a difference in others' lives.
Restored some faith in people that I had lost, esp lately.

Mostly it reminded me to depend on the One who is always with me...

To me those people were Angels sent to help me.
I am So Grateful to my Creator for his grace, mercy, love.
