I now count them in front of the pharmacist, as coming back later will get you no results. I've counted them in front of the main pharmacist and had them see personally that one or two is missing. That also usually corrects future incidents.

My mother in law counts her pills all the time and regularly finds shortages, it amazes me when you consider they are supposed to account for every pill, all I can guess isĀ their books areĀ 'fudged' quite well when they do inventory...
I ask to see the pharmacist "when they ask if I have any questions" and then open the bottle in front of him/her and do a count. Never been shorted an antibiotic, but other things always seem to be off by one or two. (not any more though since I've been doing the count practice lol.) If you think about it, they are accounting for every pill when they short you by one or two as there "master" count will be right, but the customers are getting the short end of the stick. I think they'd have more problems skimming from there non sold product as it's "allegedly" more regulated.

The other day I went there to pick up my Mirapex prescription. This morning I took a few pills out to cut them in half and noticed a different pill mixed in. Similar in size and shape, but thicker than the others.
I looked it up to find it is a different drug altogether. I don't know if it would have hurt me if I had taken it, but did notice it could have caused a reaction with my other meds I take.

How in the world could it have gotten mixed in, being it's even a different pharmaceutical brand? I could see it possible if it was a med made by the same company that could have accidentally gotten in there, but a completely different brand and medication? Damn! I'm just glad I caught it before I had taken it and possibly caused me problems. Ah, but then I could have sued them. RATS! Walgreens deserves a good spanking anyway LOL.

Just found it kinda weird is all.

Please check your prescriptions when you get them and make sure they're right. I know I'll check them more carefully from now on. Especially from that evil Walgreens.

Wow Cricket - just getting caught up, been gone a while. Do you think they were trying to substitute, or just somehow mixed in a completely different med?

Not sure if this has made the news outside the local SWFL area, but a CVS pharmacist is being sued for dispensing the incorrect medication that ended up killing a two-year old girl. Sad news, but definitely a good idea to verify medications given and dosage requirements with your doctor.

Call them out. Always. Even if it's just 1 pill. Don't let them get to you. One month you get amazing friendly pharmacists, and the next it's like hell has frozen over. I have this one pharmacist that just hates my guts for some reason and won't even fill my non-controlled clonidine script earlier than 28 days even when my ins. covers it after 22 days. I just go back when her shift is over and get it filled. The judgments is very tough to deal with.
Half my kpin prescription was missing.. 2 months in a row, now. CVS has gotten really bad. Thankfully I caught on the first month, and was baffled to find the same again when I got home this second month. They did fix it.. Both times. However this is because I brought it right back within a few hours. I don't know what would happen if I didn't realize until 10,15,20 days into the month. I doubt they would fix it and I wouldn't know what to do. I could have major withdrawal from this.. Very sad. Be careful my friends!
