To All Members, Please Read
#51
This was great to read, and I am just guessing a lot of members on this site may have anxiety issues? I personally do and can only speak for myself though. Fear of ban made me a little nervous, but my OCD made me check the rules and all has been well. Rules exist on any websites that like to function as community's, but rules can cause anxiety as well. I just try to remember when I feel anxiety that the people running the shit probably are feeling ten times the amount keeping a place like this one great.

I'm in the same boat as you. I try to keep a tab open with the rules and sculpt my post so that it follows the rules to the best of my ability. But since I'm not the brightest crayon in the box, it takes me an extra bit...lolThanks Charon for being so understanding to us.

I am also very leary of what I post! I wanted to post a thread on a site asking if anyone has had any success with them and was not sure where to post it!! Any suggestions?!?! I read and re-read the rules every time I post but things tend to get mixed up in my brain at times! Thanks!

General IOPlist area is one place. Who's Got it is another.

When we do not feel that one is deliberately trying to take down our vendors and our forums by giving up all their info, then we are far less prone to give a warning.

If one posts telling me I am an arse, then, in that event, all bets are off. You will be history.

However, you seem to be a fine poster. Just remember that for quite a long time, info was being up on our finest vendors. At other forums. We catch them too quickly here to allow them to do damage. And, we move our special places, if the vendor agrees, to a restricted area.

So, just remember to not give up location of vendor, shipping methods, payment methods. All that important info.

We are not determined to warn or ban people. But, we did receive an ungodly amount of newbies over the holidays. They seemed to feel it was their mission to give up all details of our vendors.

They were warned. They were PM'd. Other members told them: Oh don't do that.

So, behind every banning, there is a lost history of me and my mods trying to teach one how to post as we do.

Discretion is key. If the info can help johnny law take away our members, vendors, and forum, then don't post it.

Elsewise, In addition to being an attorney at law, I am a minister. I have quite a forgiving attitude. k?

Relax a bit.

We are not like other forums in that we speak in code and in PM. Hey, I have learned quite a lot doing this for almost a quarter of a century now.

You will be warned first. But, if u attack me, my staff, another member, in an horrific way, then, we are far less likely to allow another chance.

As our Moderator, Ice Wizard says: We only bite a little.

We all have chronic anxiety it would seem in addition to our other illnesses.

Don't let stress of having your post edited deter you from sharing. Seriously.

I have not had one problem from either of you. Not one. You are not behaving as the heathens did, from other forums, whom came here during holidays, with malice aforethought to take our vendors and possibly our forum down.

So, we added rules. We never had them until we went public and had some ne'er do wells come on to destroy us or our vendors.

Relax a bit. I do edit first. Sometimes i warn. But, I try to not embarrass members.

Just share and we shall be fine. We have enough chronic anxiety here and we don't want to add to more.

Haha, Thank you Charon! I am beginning to like you more and more with every post Smile (not saying I didn't like you before!) I have never seen people this genuine and willing to help others in need. Thank you for your guidance and I will try to limit the need for hand holding throughout my learning process here, but it is awesome to know that there are people willing to help! Namaste

I agree, Charon is wonderful and truly looks out for the members here. That's something that's extremely rare on ANY forum.  Heart

Well since this old thread is up again, please note we suggest that a new member make about five posts a day to achieve their first fifty.

If you zoom to, oh say 20 in a few hours, they will be deleted.

Before we can trust our sources with you, we want to know whom u r. If u r like one of us. Low profile.

The truth is Charon is looking after most of the members here. And the magic thing is that our forum is in an equilibrium between strict rules and freedom of speech. This is the result of the extensive experience of senior members and admins here. We tend to keep our home safe and the same time provides necessary information to new members who make it above 50 posts. No one should feel anxiety when posting. But the one who tries to do damage and hurt other members or our precious ventors should feel anxious about it. There is a limit helping other members as well. We all came here as newbies. There is an effort that each of us has to do, a lot of reading, and compliance with the rules before we reach for more senior membership. And the more you post the most other membres can figure out who you are and if you have good intentions. Of course posting 20 posts in a day during the start raises suspicion .Everyone may be guilty during the start the only way to know intentions is by reading individual posts through time. Well done then by our Admin and moderators who give their selves to make our forum the best and safer for all of us . But we must all protect our home. It is after all in our hand .
