Welcome ComeDayGoDay! It sounds like you had a very serious surgery, inwhich transpired from a very serious accident. I personally work in healthcare and have never even heard of such a surgery, do your accident must have been very tragic. I hate to hear of your constant pain, which I could only imagine how tough it could really be, but hopefully this forum can help you. Unfortunately, so many of the healthcare plans today, in the US, have turned towards high deductible health plans (HDHP). They used to be called catastrophic health plans but that name wasn't user friendly when insurance providers wanted to offer a cost efficient option with minimal coverage. Again, good luck in with this forum and I hope that you find some answers to benefit you and your family.

Hello, and welcome, I too am a new member, and have been down a similar road. Navigating and balancing costs is a nightmare. I feel like health insurance in the US has so stacked the deck against the individual actually finding symptom relief...forget about long term solutions...we are on our own. And they wonder why the rules get broken.

Yes, it's so frustrating! Our deductible is insane. We are a middle-class honest working family with two kids and normal expenses. It's not fair and I feel so anxious about online overseas ordering, but yeah, obviously I wouldn't be in this predicament if I couldn't afford medications that i need. Ug. I feel like health "insurance" is an oxymoron!  Confused

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I hope to find the information and support I need!

Hi ComeDayGoDay, I'm in the tristate area myself. Not my first choice of residence locales, but it's better than Calcutta (although they have OTC benzos and codeine, I don' think the tradeoff is worth it Smile )
