rx meds for pets
#1
Help please!
Does anyone know of an IOP that sells Rx meds for pets? My vet has them but they are too expensive these days so I would appreciate any suggestions for a good supplier. Thank you. S.

I haven't seen them, but I know some medicine like xanax is the same stuff you get at the pharmacy. Funny story my friends vet wrote 1mg xanax for his dog. It's really funny seeing it kick in and watch the dog get utterly smashed.

Scorpigoh can u mention what kind of meds your pet needs. You have not reached your 50's so you are not able to pm yet. If I know what you need maybe I can help you and your little friend there.

There are sites for this. Especially when one did animal rescue for so many years, i could buy online.

Any animal lovers or rescuers have current names of sites for pet meds that don't require calling your pet's vet?

Smile Thank you all for help! Smile  The RX meds that we would like to buy is NexGard flea and tick, and Interceptor Plus heart worm med.. our vet retired and he was our dog and cat go to for 30 years. Wish I had remembered to get a prescription from him. So now it looks like I have to find a IOP for my wonderful friends and the only one I have found is in Australia.

I have had the best luck ordering from Australia, very low cost for the same meds the vet prescribes. I ordered a heartworm preventative that was less than 1/3 the cost of buying from the vet and it was the exact same brand from the vet & manufactured in Atlanta GA!

Funny story well not really but my moms shitzu had to have surgery to repair his knee which kept popping out of it's socket pour little guy was in pain but after about two weeks of recovery he was back to his spry little self. Funny thing was the vet had prescribed him 120 trams. They were only 10mg but there were just under a 100 left that she was going to throw away. I did some research and found that they are the same us humans take. Personally I'm not a big fan but I gave them to a friend who really enjoyed them what do you know

The meds from vets are normally filled by a regular pharmacy. I have always found them to be the same meds as humans receive.

Maybe later i shall have time to look. I did animal rescue for years. Maybe I can find a site for pet meds. I know if u don't have proof u r a rescue group, or working with a vet, u may not get the injectibles one uses for their shots.

I had to get the IV saline solutions a lot as i raised hour old kittens whose mom had been killed. Or, whom could not take care of the babies.

I know there are magazines i used to receive wherein one could order pet meds, esp the basic heart guard and flea preventatives.

Rats. Maybe as my tea works, my brain will recall some sites.
