I don't really get this one, I don't know?

I'm probably wrong but I interpret simplistically this as :

People who are smart (great minds) discuss/debate ideas. People who are of average intelligence talk about what is currently going on in the news or what they hear/read. Small minds gossip about others because they aren't smart enough to have original thoughts of their own.

That's a beautiful poem. I'm sorry for your loss and you are correct, time doesn't heal all wounds. It may help ease some of the grief so that you are able to remember and enjoy the good memories more. Hugs to you. <3
