The Music Thread
Linville,

I think Stevie is the one if the best female vocalists ever, and yes, she has been through the ringer, too, which I think makes her more real/relatable. She is my inspiration for trying to kick my Clonazepam addiction. She was so open about how she beat her coke addiction, only to be prescribed C'pam and have to go back to rehab to kick that addiction, and she never thought she needed the drug to begin with.

In the documentary, she opens up about her "secret" relationship with Iovine because he was producing Tom Petty at the same time he was producing Edge of Seventeen. He didn't want to upset Tom. Also, it was his idea to have them record Stop Draggin My Heart around as a duet. It was Tom's song, but he didn't think it would be hit. Jimmy wanted Stevie to sing it because he didn't feel that she had a hit single on her album. The compromise was the duet, snd Tom was never really thrilled about it because Stevie's album was a hit and he felt his album suffered. Just some interesting music history.  Cool
catty, I think I saw the same doc.

Also I have seen her talk about those addictions . Yeah, she must be very strong willed to have survived.
I like the story she and Joe Walsh has too.

Hi Ms Hepburn.  Smile
Audrey - Small world! We'll have to talk about that sometime. How are you hanging in there this weekend? Any sleep at all? Busy at work?

Linville - Yes, Stevie has had quite the interesting love life, to say the least. She's a survivor, too.
Audrey,

I can relate. My weekend plans st the beach with my iPad, The Last Tycoon and Matt Bomer were cancelled due to work. I got thrown on a class action - trial starts in 2 weeks and I have a lot of catching up to do.

I'm so glad that you got some sleep. I don't know how you can do your job without it, especially a double. I just have to stare at a computer screen all weekend, so my biggest concern is blurry text and missing something. Tomorrow when I have to go into the office will be a different story.

Hope your weekend is going well. Take care of yourself!

Someone might enjoy this one, Smiles.
Wont say their name but it is DW.
Remember when you discovered this great harmonious group and shared them with me?
I do.
Thank you, DW
....

Yes, LINVILLE,  I remember those fun days and sharing Fleet Foxes with you.
Not likely I'll forget you,  or Fleet Foxes

Well I lied, Im back for my real last post.
Ha.

Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp

When my eyes were stabbed
By the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening

People writing songs
That voices never share
And no one dare
Disturb the sound of silence

"Fools" said I, "you do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach to you"
But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon God they made
And the sign flashed out it's warning
And the words that it was forming

And the sign said
"The words of the prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And whispered in the sound of silence

Speaking of Metallica, it's good to listen to them without the bass completely gone from the mix once in a while.
