Hello!

Brand new member, looking forward to meeting other members and learning as much as possible.  Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow for all who celebrate it, I will probably be reading the forum rules for the next day or two, as I'm celebrating Thanksgiving by myself this year.

Welcome. May u find all u need.

I guess u don't need the obligatory link to the rules as u already plan on perusal of same as part of your Thanksgiving festivities. That will work. May I suggest you watch a favorite play turned movie or read something a tad bit more fun.

Now, are you serious? Will u be alone? Well, I shall tell u what. I, for one, will be around the forums. Houseshare and I shall order in from a restaurant/diner. He also has good intentions to do some work, on the side, as the landlord of the autobody area wants access again. I know I am difficult to understand. Its a fine art to be so cryptic. LOL.

So, feel free to be comfortable. Get together a special meal. And, come on by.

We consider ourselves to be a family here. So, u won't have to be alone. The world does not get us, but we understand each other. We all have pain, anxiety, fears, PTSD, every illness known to man. Even if u, thank God, don't share in those problems, you are certainly welcome to come by and put up music from youtube. Photos.

You won't be alone.

Happy Thanksgiving back at ya! Oh, the rules wont take u two days to read. Two days to get the hang of them. Or, longer.

What is ur favorite show u can watch for free tomorrow from youtube or whomever? Watch that. And, come on by.

We have many a thread that the senior and pioneer members have put their hearts and souls into. Enjoy. You are welcome to be part of our family.

Hello Linville,

My thanks for your kind welcome, perhaps we'll have the opportunity to "get to know one another" in the days to come.  I am alone more often than not due to an extended period of "funemployment", I imagine I'll be here online quite often, as other forums (political, etc.) hold no interest for me.

My best regards.

Goodness, a welcome from the forum Admin!  Color me impressed and grateful, Charon.

By the grace of Amazon Prime and their versatile "Fire TV Box", and my old friend Netflix, I do have plenty of visual aids to keep me occupied tomorrow...Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera", among others.  As a widower, the television has become one of my best friends, and friends are too precious a commodity to cast aside at my age.  It is comforting to know that I won't be "alone" while I'm alone, and I don't find your writing to be "cryptic" at all, merely worthy of study and consideration, two of my favorite activities.

My special meal has been arranged by my oldest daughter, bless her.  Sonny's BBQ had a plate of smoked turkey, a quart of giblet gravy, green beans, coleslaw, a pecan pie, and a gallon of iced tea ready for me to pick up today.  Sonny's is a bit of a drive from my home, but my 17-year old Chihuahua loves trips in the car, so I wasn't without company for the trip.

My problem (and I do thank the Lord that I have only one), is Generalized Anxiety Disorder.  While I was employed and had wonderful health insurance coverage I was able to pick up monthly prescriptions for a commonly prescribed short acting anti-anxiety medication, which I took faithfully for fifteen years.  However, when I was laid off due to "cost cutting measures" by my employer, my insurance lapsed, and absent the medication, I fell victim to a seizure that hospitalized me for three days in September, and gave me the fright of a lifetime.  The hospital neurologist (and the Psychiatrist I've been seeing for seventeen years) both recommended a longer acting version in the same class of medications, one I was prescribed many years ago for my condition, but since the 1980's has become almost impossible to have prescribed, although it is one of the most commonly used medications for people my age (it was referred to as "Mother's Little Helper" in the 60's and 70's).  Of course, I cannot afford to sign up for an ACA plan with no income stream (please let a job come along soon), and without any medication, I'm in constant fear of another seizure.  Not pleasant.

I'll be watching the Phantom, the old Michael Keaton "Batman" films, and capping it off with my beloved deceased wife's favorite film, "P.S., I Love You" tomorrow, I suppose great minds think alike.

Happy Thanksgiving, Charon, and sincere thanks for your welcome to the community and your kind suggestions.

Thank you sincerely for your kind welcome, Mad Max, I'm honored to meet a forum moderator.

I fully intend to visit the forums once I have digested the rules, and it means very much to me to be welcomed to a family.  Such welcomes are far and in between for a middle aged visitor, and I won't forget your kind words.

Hello Justice1,

Thank you for your welcome, it is nice to know that I am not the only "newbie" here!

I share your respect for the rules, and certainly plan to absorb them fully by the end of the week.  I am new to online forums and thus apprehensive about violating them.

My best, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello IceWizard, I am pleased to meet you, and sincerely appreciate your welcome to "the family", which already seems to be a recurring theme here.  One I'm most grateful to see, mind you!  Happy Thanksgiving to you, and once I've perused the rules, I look forward to encountering you in the forums.

My best to you.

Enjoy your movie day.  Smile

Thank you Audrey!  I must say, the warm welcome I've received has cheered me up considerably, I am very grateful to you all.

The post-feast Microwave popcorn is ready to go, and I'm well supplied with the last batch of Keurig compatible Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte packets, let the movies beware.

Thank you for your welcome, and enjoy your Thanksgiving!

Hi there OldBoy, welcome to this corner of the internet. If you've been taking anti-anxiety meds for as long as you've had, seizures are a serious risk during withdrawal. Hope you're able to find what you need!
