President Hollande said ISIS is a threat to the whole world

In a televised address today Francois Hollande said military operations in the Middle East would be intensified just days after it launched attacks on ISIS, also known as Daesh, destroying a number of targets.

He announced plans to form a coalition with USA and Russia “to carry out strikes on Dash because Daesh is guilty”.

The president added: “What’s at stake is annihilating an army that threatens the whole world and not just some countries.”

He told the nation “we are at war” and promised there would be increases recruitment for the both the judiciary and police forces.

Speaking just five days after 129 people were killed in terror attacks in Paris, Hollande said he wanted “more policemen, better equipped and better armed”.

It comes as the Charles-de-Gaulle aircraft carrier left the French port of Toulon and headed towards the eastern Mediterranean to boost operations in Syria against ISIS, which claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks.

France hit back at ISIS on Saturday night with a 20 bombing raids on the terror group’s de-facto capital in Syria, Raqqa.

Hollande was speaking just hours after a police siege in the Paris suburb of St-Denis, which left two terrorists dead and saw seven people arrested.

French authorities said they were acting in response to intelligence Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the mastermind of the Paris attacks, was in an apartment there.

It is yet to be revealed whether he has been apprehended but the siege ended just before midday.

In today’s address, which was held in front of the country’s mayors, Hollande urged the French population to “live life to the full” inspite of the ongoing terror fears.

He said: “What would our country be without its cafes, concerts, sport events, museums?" 

Hollande said any places where people are "glorifying" terrorism will be shut down.

A bill to extend France's state of emergency for three months includes a measure that enables authorities to close "any association or gathering" - which includes mosques and community groups- that would encourage people to carry out terrorist acts.

The bill is to be debated by both houses of Parliament on Thursday and Friday and expected to be voted on by the end of the week.

The airstrike campaign is France's biggest military activity in Syria.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights today said 33 ISIS fighters were killed in the three days of raids on the Syrian-based terror group.

It also said a large number of ISIS militants and their families had been forced to flee Raqqa become of the attacks and have headed to Iraq.

Reminds me of the "Al Qaeda" witch hunt days of the Bush II era. Spawned and funded by the CIA at one point in time, focus for directing military spending at another point in time.

In the US, the defense industry is big (BIG) business and without a perceived (and likely manufactured) threat the money doesn't flow as freely. All efforts to loosen up the spending WILL happen.

Hopefully the world is in for a new perception when Russia is the country that actually cleans up Syria and the Middle East. Or should I say cleans up the mess the US has made over there meddling in other countries for decades.

Yes, the defense industry is BIG. So many of our politicians are highly invested in it and want to keep that money flowing. They're making millions for themselves by keeping wars going and starting new ones all over the world. most of our so called enemies are made up. Our government has to use someone as the boogieman to keep us afraid and going along with their plans to rule the world and make a lot of money doing it.

Eisenhower warned us about the Military growing beyond control, but no one listened, or cared. Now we have bases all over the world and many of these countries are very unhappy to have our military running their countries. Any wonder why they are fighting back? We have caused our own problems.

Arms companies have seen a massive increase in share values since the Paris attacks,as stated above many politicians have huge investments in these companies,suprised?No!
The idea is for there to be a never ending state of war with whoever is the next boogey man,in this case Daesh,total nutjobs,that emerged out of the mess the West created in the middle east,it never ends,it smells bad as that stuff you accidentally step on left by dogs.
