UGH! Halloween is not something I look forward to, especially this yr.
Now that I'm living in this trailer park and there are kids like crazy, I know it will not be peaceful around here. My dogs are gonna go nutz with all of the activity I'm sure is coming.
At my old home, the doorbell very rarely rang. There weren't many kids in my hood, so it was business as usual. But here, OMG it's gonna be a very noisy night.

About Halloween, have any of you researched how it came about? It was started by the Druids and was not a pleasant time back then. Very evil and cruel events took place. But now they have put frills around it to make it a fun time to celebrate, but if people knew the origin of it and it's true satanic meaning, I doubt many would feel comfortable about celebrating it. It's the same with MANY of our special holidays. They all come from a bad place, but we have been brainwashed into seeing them as fun. Not much fun or anything to celebrate back in their beginnings.

God, if more folks would discover how we are actually celebrating satanic rituals and how much we are lied to about EVERYTHING.

Now I must try and locate my earplugs for the coming onslaught.
Enjoy if you wish to, but I can't now that I know more about our holidays.
Sorry to be such a "downer", but it is what it is.

Audrey Hepburn - I am with you!!!  Clowns creep me out!  Dodgy

Cute pics Charon!!  Smile

Circket, where I live, trick or treating has been pretty much limited to schools, nursing homes and the malls, which does not hurt my feelings!!  I detest opening the door to see teenagers in a mask, jeans and t-shirt holding a pillow case out!!  Come on!!  Rolleyes

I love Halloween.  It was always right up there with Christmas and July 4th for me.

Makes me sad that people are afraid of clowns and don't like them.  I collected clown costume items for many years.
It was fun to design a different face each year.

But BEST OF ALL - I obtained various items that "squirt"
Big Grin

When you're a clown, it feels So Free, anonymous - in my huge borrowed way-too-large sneakers and clothes/socks that Did Not Match, people never recognized me, even after they knew I often dressed as a clown.  They said I didn't look at all like myself.
I had a flower, big sunglasses, bowtie, hat, and nose - all squirted water.  I had pretty good aim, too.
I changed every year, adding a new wig or another joke item to my collection.   It was fun painting my face weird.
My boyfriend and I would arrive at different times & entrances to avoid detection.

As a clown, I could be silly and ridiculous, turn cartwheels or do slapstick comedy - No Dignity Required!   LOL
I could prank people and do crazy things, act totally the fool - and believe me, I did.

It's funny I remember how after people were "squirted", they were so eager for me to get the next new person arriving and see them squirted.  I was always at the hub of pranking at Halloween - innocent but fun stuff.

SO MANY Fantastic memories of being a clown.  Dam* Hollywood for making them creepy.
I loved watching them at circus when I was a kid - NEVER felt creeped out by them.  Slap stick humor fine by me.

Sorry, but you have a clown among you...     Tongue
