Drop by and say hello! Even if you aren't from the UK still say hi and meet your IOPList friends from across the pond.
I can only make two more posts today, so if I don't reply I'm not being rude.
Have a great morning/afternoon/evening fellow IOPlist members.

hi yep I'm the UK in an area like I discussed had appaling NHS mental health treatment.
I don't want to give my location away.
but there have been several incidences swept under the carpet.
The home treatment team did not visit a man that had months before tried to hang himself. had to be talked down from a building and made other attempts.
He was in his 40's alone and found x mass difficult.
They did not even bother to give a him a phone call, now this man regulary went to the GP for help, so I don't think he slipped under the cracks etc.
his body was not found till mid jan due to smell, that proves how lonely he must have been,
he had no job
no partner
no friends
no hobbies
history of suicide
dreaded xmas
I am no mental health expert but I would have surely that was a HIGH RISK situation.

I knew someone in almost exact same circumstances who couldn't take any more of the crap he was being put through by mainly government social security depts, same time of year, not a good time for some, I don't even acknowledge Christmas, its great for the kids but it just aint my thing, consumerism going crazy, just another day to me.
Mental health services are in a right old mess, i know others who are suffering due to lack of help down to government cuts, they have a lot of blood on their hands which they just wash away without a thought, sad state of affairs this country has gotten in to, hope everyone here gets by ok.

I can't believe the hypocrisy of this UK Government...it said in it's manifesto that it would be 'tackling the injustice' of how Mental Health is dealt with in this country and yet makes more and more cuts within the NHS.

Its cos they are liars, sociopathic liars, they said a lot of things before the election, about treating everyone equally so they were not 'just about managing', nothings changed for most of us.
