safe mail
#1
Not sure if this is right place to ask this in forum so apologies if it should be elsewhere.Yesterday i went to login to a safe-mail account i have and it wouldn't let me,said username or password not recognised.
When i tried to email support from another email addy it just came back as unable to deliver, twice.
I also used their quick email option to send to their support,it said 'Username does not exist',my username does not exist, strange.
Looks like they closed my account, anyone else having problems?Dusko emailed me today asking if i had got the email from her as other people were saying they could not email her,i was able to receive and reply to Dusko, something strange is going on with safe-mail which we all know is not safe really lol!
So if anyone else has had any problems could they chime in please?
I was able to make another account with them but will not be using that one to contact any vendors or iops thats for sure, weird how i was able to make a new one,so my ip is not blocked or anything, unlike what happened with hUshmail a few years ago,all a bit weird to me.

I don't use "safe-mail", but that sounds really weird Tommy ... Wonder why they would just close your account for no apparent reason? .. Hmmmm .... I don't know, but it surely sounds fishy ... I'd look elsewhere for an account you can actually use and not worry about not getting a piece of coresopndence you've been waiting for or a vendor thinking you are just not responding ... Don't sound to awfully reliable ...

I just went to login using my old username and it let me login! This is strange, either a technical problem or something fishy imo.
I don't trust them as being 'safe' at all,am waiting on being accepted as a proton mail account, just waiting for authorisation email to set it up,seems a lot of folk have signed up,anyone here use proton? How long did it take to get authorised?
Def will not be using safe for any ordering from anyone in future, don't trust them at all.
I remember when a load of us with hushmail accounts got closed down a few years ago, that was due to many people using it to order from vendors online, god knows what safe smail are really up to but its got my radar beeping alert tones, staying away from them when placing any orders thats for sure, better err...'Safe'than sorry, didn't mean that to sound like a pun but couldn't avoid it.lol!

How does Proton work?

I just go to their web-site and sign up then wait for invite and then make email address……does it close itself out if you do not use it for a while like hushmail?

I need to create one and I am trying and looking for one so …...

Proton is not protected.

Hotmail, Gmail, Safe-mail --- all the same.

Use Temp.Pm to type your message and then insert into body of text.

To my knowledge, only riseup.net is protected at this stage... that may change.

I never send anything that could be construed as compromising without Temp.Pm... but that's just me.

Safety first.

Best wishes. CL

Um, didn't they take down safe-mail because of the "purposes" that people were using it for?
Same deal as with Hushmail. I could be wrong, but I thought I saw that in an article on darknet. :/

Temp.Pm is awesome! Even better than privnote. Kudos for sharing. Smile

Just read that the not so safe mail is still down and on the page it says,At this time we will permanently remove about 250,000 user accounts that were involved in activity which violates the Safe-mail.net Agreement and policy.

why is proton not safe? All i have read the last year is that it is a safer encrypted email account,or is it BS and something the spooks have made to lure some folk into some kind of honey trap?

I also got my first spam email at another much safer account i use,i don't know who got it or all the other names that were added to it alongside mine.
I have had that account for about 5 years, thats the first spam i have ever received, its not the provider selling my addy to these spammers,so who the hell can it be?One of the forums i am registered with?Doubt dusko would be involved in selling my email addy to anyone or the other email vendor i have used from that addy, find it very strange indeed.
