The shortest war in history was the Anglo-Zanzibar War.
It lasted for about 38 minutes



According to History Today:
“the Anglo-Zanzibar War has the dubious honor of being the shortest war in history,
lasting around thirty-eight minutes from the outbreak of hostilities”.

This was a military conflict in 1896 that ended up to be a war between
East African Island Zanzibar Sultanate and Great Britain.

as the shortest recorded war in history.”

Around 500 Zanzibaris died in the war.
This is the shortest war in history,
but the bloodiest for that little time.
