Rand Paul Threatens Criminal Referral on Lying Dr. Fauci During DebatePublished 24 hours ago on July 21, 2021By Editorial Staff
Rand Paul Pushing for Criminal Referral After Grilling Fauci for Lies to Congress-ss-Featured
On Tuesday, Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that he plans to seek criminal action in connection to lying to Congress against Dr. Anthony Fauci. The National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director had inconsistent statements regarding the approval of funding research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Rand Paul said Fauci needs to face punishment for lying to Congress – a criminal offense.
Hannity noted that Paul started his questioning of Fauci by emphasizing that, according to federal law, lying to Congress is a felony that is punishable by up to five years in prison. Hannity then asked Paul if the senator believed Fauci lied to Congress and broke federal law.
To this, Paul answered “yes” and said he plans to send a letter to the Justice Department. The senator added that he will ask for a criminal referral because he believes the NIAID director lied before Congress.
Paul then added that dozens of scientists have deemed that the research Fauci’s agency funded was gain-of-function. This comes contrary to what the doctor alleged during the questioning. During the interrogation, Fauci said the scientists they consulted with did not deem it as such.

Additionally, Paul accused Fauci of lying because of the doctor’s “self-interest” to “cover his tracks” and his “connection to the Wuhan Lab.”
The senator recognized that Fauci doesn’t deserve all the blame as “conjecture” still exists about whether the SARS-COV virus did actually come from the lab. However, Fauci still lied when it came to funding gain-of-function research. For this, Paul believes Fauci needs to face punishment.

I know most people here are anti- Fauci, however Rand Paul is a f#cking idiot.
Here is a classic piece that the right seems to always forget, or not bring up:

IMO Rand Paul is just grandstanding and trying to make himself relevant. You don't have to believe science (although I don't understand why so many are arguing about it), but don't fool yourself that Rand Paul is a hero.

And...does that mean you don't feel you should wear a mask? The government gave conflicting information then, and at times still gives confusing and/or misleading information. However the misinformation that is out there is WAY worse now.
It comes down to: masks significantly slow the spread of the virus as does hand washing and social distancing. The vaccine works to help save peoples lives. The anti-vacc community is throwing so much shit out there about it, yeah it is confusing to people. The Republican politicians saying they don't have to disclose whether or not they took the vaccine...Why do you think they are doing that? Either they took it and don't want the public to know because they push the anti-vacc conspiracy shit and will look like hypocrites, or to get more free media coverage for themselves. And IMO it is also for re-election campaigns. They don't give a shit about the general public being at risk and death.
When I am the only one in a grocery store wearing a mask, and I get harassed FOR WEARING IT, something is wrong. How is someone wearing a mask infringing on others rights, or somehow offending them? So yeah, I took the vaccine in January, will be one of the first in line to get a booster when it is available, wear a mask everywhere in public, and expect others to not say shit to me about being a *good American* (true quote) because they aren't being a sheep in public.

Masking wearing should be an individuals choice after he or she has digested all the information out there on the subject. No one should harass another for wearing a mask. I am fully vaccinated and I choose not wear a mask, but I may reconsider since the Delta variant seems to be more contagious than the original strain. I don't know if wearing a mask helps, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Frankly, I don't believe anything Dr. Fauci says and I do believe he is partly responsible for the outbreak since agencies he is affiliated with sent money to the Wuhan lab for research. Fauci is careful to qualify his denial of being responsible for this funding based on his definition of gain of function research. I wish the government, lawmakers and CDC would stop politicizing Covid and just do what's best for the American people for a change.

Yes, Fauci has no credibility but when the Arizona audit by CyberNinjas is complete, and Trump reinstated as President, watch out!

So Tucker Carlson got confronted on camera by someone saying he is an awful person. In front of his daughter. That never should happen. However,
here is what he told others to do on April 26, 2021.
Bailey's criticisms revived discussions on social media about comments Carlson made in April about mask use in public. During Tucker Carlson Tonight on April 26, Carlson encouraged Americans to challenge those who continued wearing masks in public spaces. Carlson said those who were still wearing masks were doing so not out of necessity, but out of "political obedience."
"The next time you see someone in a mask on the sidewalk or on the bike path, do not hesitate," Carlson said. "Ask politely but firmly: 'Would you please take off your mask? Science shows there is no reason for you to be wearing it. Your mask is making me uncomfortable.'"
Carlson went on to suggest viewers continue challenging those who wear masks until the practice becomes "as socially accepted as lighting a Marlboro on an elevator."
"It's repulsive," Carlson said. "Don't do it around other people. That's the message we should send, because it's true."
He is encouraging the crap that I am dealing with several times per week. How about if we all stay away from each other and mine our own business.
I don't trust that anyone that would tell me to take off my mask has taken precautions not to get COVID, and they don't trust me because I am wearing a mask.

I agree with that analysis ...
Wear one, don't wear one, wear two, don't wear any...
One thing I can say about either side is inconsistency,
That is probably the only thing all of them are consistent about...
is inconsistency

Its only a matter of time Before we are all wearing masks again. The CDC is recommending today that in certain areas vaccinated people wear masks indoors.
Personally I’m fine with wearing a mask and if anything I hope the slows down my jobs rush to get us back into the office.

There is so much misinformation on both sides about Covid. I think we will be dealing with this for some time. If I am in public I will wear a mask but, I am a loner and didn't get out much before so nothing has changed.
