Very interesting article. I had no idea how ivermectin was derived. Although I have never taken the drug myself, I give it on a regular basis to our horses and dogs. Ivermectin is the main ingredient in Heartgard. Ivermectin is also given to cattle to eliminate parasites or as a prophylactic treatment.
