Cross-border VAT e-commerce in the EU 1/7/2021
#1
Anyone here heard or is familiar with new VAT in e-commerce rules in the EU imposing VAT in e-commerce and the import of the so-called small parcels to EU countries? I wonder how these new rules work. As far as I know, the new rules are intended to ensure easier VAT settlements and limit the influx of parcels with untaxed goods from third countries. In the last couple of months, I've noticed that all my purchases ( ebay, amazon, etc) are being stopped and held by local cu$tom$. Then they are either released requiring addditional fees or being held awaiting explanation to be further processed. I wonder if anybody else has noticed the same when shipping/receiving from outside/inside the EU? If this thread, for any reason, is inappropriate please remove it and accept my apologies. If no, I hope some friends here will help me to clear some issues with the rules launched on July 1 2021. Sita
