Ridiculous Gas Prices possible $10 a Gallon
#1
Greetings All,

I am sure that the current gasoline prices are affecting most everyone here. It's close to $6.00 a gallon where I am at and it continues to go up everyday. It's not just the how much it costs to fill up your vehicle but we all know how much more we are paying for groceries and other items as the truck drivers have to raise their prices to get all the things that we buy into the stores.

Unfortunately there are no signs of this getting better. I have worked in the oil industry for close to 20 years. The major oil companies are spending a LOT of money right now to upgrade their software and equipment so their price display signs and their pumps are able to display an extra digit. In short they are preparing for gasoline to reach 10 bucks a gallon. Hopefully that will never happen but I cannot see them spending all the money they are if they were not expecting it.

Some of you may disagree but most of us know this is a direct result of the policies implemented b the current administration. They want 10 dollar a gallon gas so people will not use as much and be forced to consider buying electric cars. Most of us cannot afford the price of an electric car and if we could afford them, we don't have the infrastructure such as charging points and even mechanics to work on the electric car.

I have a friend who owns a Tesla who recently broke down on a interstate highway and had to have his car towed close to 300 miles to get it serviced! It was close to a $1500.00 just for the towing!

I don't know how we as a country especially the poor and the middle class are going to be able to survive another 2 years of this administration.

Biden wants to point fingers at everyone else for gas prices, inflation etc and not take ANY responsibility himself as if taking us from an energy independent country to the total mess it is now and purchasing oil from countries like Iran and Venezuela who produce some of the dirtiest low grade crude oil on the planet.

He also makes this country look very week in the eyes of the world. We used to be the a country that was a world leader but now Biden or whoever is calling the shots has destroyed that.

Joe Biden has been a disaster from day one. EVERYTHING he has done has been a disaster. From the economy, the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan to the border crisis etc... This is an old man with obvious cognitive issues who has no business being president. He needs to be retired and spending the rest of his years with his family.

I hope everyone remembers this when 2024 rolls around and we have a chance to get this guy out of office.

I am a Trump supporter and I make no excuses for it. Is he perfect? Absolutely not but remember the economy and gas prices among other things while he was in office. I honestly believe Donald Trump is a patriot and cares about this country and the people who live here. I am sure hoping he runs again in 2024.

I want the country I remember growing up in back. No more of this CRT or the "Woke" agenda.

We need to get God back into the schools and concentrate on teaching our children the basics like Math, English, Science, social studies etc.

I don't post a whole lot but I have had my rant.

I am proud to be an American and am willing to fight for the Constitution and whatever is needed to get this country back on the right track

Peace

In the UK petrol (gas) is around £1.80 a litre and expected to reach £2 in days. I think a gallon is about 4 and a half litres. I'm not doing all the maths, but the UK is equivalent/worse than your $10/gallon scenero. I've mostly blamed Russia invading Ukraine. I hate the UK gov (especially Boris Johnson), but I don't think he's caused that problem - although he's not done anything to help it either.

Of course the UK is smaller so you never need to drive as far, plus that makes installing electric charge points easier. At the moment I'd say an electric car (if you can afford one) only makes sense in UK cities or if you live in a densly packed area, like South East of England or the West Midlands. However we need far more fast charging points, plus the villages/towns. Along with that the UK needs to become more independent for energy - a mix of green and nuclear.

Even if you don't use a car all that food in the supermarket has to get there somehow. I've noticed shops aren't just pushing up prices but also making the packets/containers smaller. Things are randomly out of stock. I'm not really a prepper, besides I live in a city, but having a small stash of essentials might make life easier.

I see a recession coming - another bad one too, maybe like the 70s. When banks fail governments (Fed Reserve, Bank of England) can bail them out. I don't think it's really ethical, but it stops capitalism collapsing so probably lesser of two evils. When there is deflation, or the pandemic situation where the economy was "switched off" in lockdown, you can jump start an economy by printing money - put money in people's pockets and they spend it. Inflation is much harder, more painful to fix.

I'm doing two things:
1) Ebay - selling off a lot of stuff that's accumulated
2) Trimming my spending very hard - learning to make do and mend

Hi barq. Doing the same things here not buying any high ticket items selling stuff on eBay and Poshmark consignment stores. Staying away from places like target that jacked up their prices and now they’re stuck with a lot of inventory I’d rather buy secondhand this also means no three month trip around the world that I had planned lol just kidding mind your pennies people might be a rough go for a little bit.

The Biden administration is clearly winning its war on energy with a very effective America last policy.

Greetings All,

Well where I am at gas has officially hit $6.20 a gallon. When you go into the city it is over 7 and 8 bucks a gallon. It's even more where the gas stations are located near the highways and there are no signs this is going to get better.

This president does not care how this is affecting the American people. He is in a total state of denial and continues to take no responsibility at all for this mess.

Even though I am blessed to be able to work from home, I am not driving anywhere and when I do I make all my stops in one trip and hardly go out anymore other than to the grocery store, post office, pharmacy etc.

I pray for all those who are not as lucky as I am.

We had gone out for some wings and a few beer's recently and I found myself thinking if it was worth it or not. I was totally shocked when we got the bill. We had 16 wings and 2 beer's and it was close to $60.00!!!

Even being able to work from home between gas prices and the economy I find myself never leaving the house anymore which is totally unhealthy. Everyone needs to get out once in a while and have a good time just to cut loose and relax from the stresses of the world but this president has made this near impossible.

I really don't know how this country is going to be able to survive another 2 years of this administration and it scares the hell out of me.

Peace all and pray for this country

(06-03-2022, 11:11 AM)This post speaks to me! I recently took a trip and the line for folks to charge was so long! It’s truly scary to picture the future and what it could hold for us.Furyan66 Wrote: Greetings All,

It’s been difficult. It’s even effected people in other countries. Hear in Australia the petrol was expensive way before the Russia/Ukrainian wars. It seems lockdowns and supply chain disruptions has done it.
It’s made it hard as cost of living in general has gone up.

They blame it on stuff but it’s obvious to many it’s semi intentional.
Feels that way anyhow.

I hope everyone wakes up to the extreme woke stuff. Extremes on any end is unhealthy. Hope there is answers and relief comming.
