Thank you Charon and Linville. Yes the damage and destruction is horrible. Yes sand in the roads, downed power poles and traffic lights. But so many people are so resilient and have such a great spirit, that it is hard not to be inspired.
The heat and humidity is in the 100 degree plus neighborhood. So working slow and steady, with lots of water is the key. Across the street from where I live was one of many giant oak trees. It is laying on its side, having torn up the concrete. It is an amazing site. It really illustrates the power of Mother Nature.
Our grocery stores are opening and each day the shelves are becoming more stocked again. Our gas stations are replenished. Finally got gas this morning. No more boil water order as of this morning. It's been a good day.
The things we take for granted....these events are always very humbling. Many people still without power, water and homes. My dog and family are very grateful to have all that we do today. We have dog food, water, bananas, peanut butter, pretzels and protein bars. Will attempt grocery shopping tomorrow after work.
Thank you for your well wishes. If you don't have money to donate to hurricane Harvey or Irma, go to a homeless shelter and help give out meals. I have every confidence, it will be very rewarding and appreciated. Try to pay it forward. Rumor
