My Dr. has me on Lorazepam... says the half life is much shorter which makes it much better than Diaz. Anyone have any experience or thoughts?
Is one more affective than the other? What are the pros and cons of each? Don't know much about either, but whichever id best at masking chronic pain is what I'm iso.
I have to admit, that I have never given L0raz a shot.
Might be time to give them a go!
Curious to read others' responses on it.
I can't tell any difference between a 1mg Loraz and a 2 mg valium. To be honest, I can barely tell I've taken anything. My family doctor had me on Valium but when I went to the psychiatrist he switched me to Lorazepam. Said the half life was much shorter which he thought was better for me overall. I've heard varying opinions on that. He doesn't know about my chronic back pain, so he's just treating depression I guess. That dosage is not nearly enough, but I've had to make it work...until this site. I'm giving up on going through the same long history with doctor after doctor with no results. I don't know why my doctor knowing my chronic pain issues, pks being discontinued and bi-polar/depression haven't prescribed a higher dose, but he hasn't. It really pisses me off because it's like he doesn't take me seriously. I remember I told him once, "what do I have to do to get someone to understand the issues I'm trying to deal with...hurt myself?" He just ignored me, but that's honestly the way I've felt. I've been prescribed Trileptal, Topamax, Depakote... Didn't see much if any change with those. I think relief from my back pain would take care a lot of my depression issues. I think those arise from my constant battle with lower back pain.
Yes.... no doubt about that. Become a Politician and you get your Mecical License!
lorazepam all the way my friend. Diazepam is nice but to subtle in my opinion
Yeah I found out from veterans on the site that if you suffer from chronic pain, Diaz is advertised to provide minor relief. I've been on a very small dosage twice a day of Loraz and honestly I don't even notice it and my Psychiatrist is a no on increasing 1mg twice a day. Sad.
You are funny Salty!Smile That's cool! I agree, lorazes are different than vals. I hope your pain gets better! I know from experience that vals do help with skeletal pain. L's are nice. It sucks that doc's have to be careful with whatever they prescribe! And I hope your doc dials a clue! Good grief! Pain inside and out! Not fun! I pray everything works out for you! WILD HEARTS CAN'T BE BROKEN!Smile
I have a preference for loraz myself. Diaz is nice but it lacks the punch id like and has a half life that stays in the system much to long for my liking. Just my two cents
Absolutely lorazepam works so much better for me than valium.

I have always thought that loraz is the closest benzo to Alp that you can get but i don`t really have that much experience with Alps.
So maybe someone else has a better opinion on that comparison to me.
