Just a very brief hello from me here. I've been going through something really major and it has left me weak and unable to type or do much - except watch endless horror movies, which I love and intend to write a book about when I feel better. Yes, I know that's a weird way to try to feel better but it works for me by keeping my attention away from the difficulties I've been facing.
I am going to share it with you all as soon as I feel strong enough. A few kind friends know but it's easier for me to tell people one by one and when I feel strong enough. Weak as a kitten right now.
Big love to all. I've missed you guys this week, I really have.

Edit Reason: Fireplace's post
)
Good morning, friends. Have a nice Monday! Hello Fireplaces, I see we are posting at the same time. I came back to edit to tell you that you are a wonderful Mom. I know you are appreciated.
IceWizard, where did you get my picture and what did you do to my teeth?
Rose5555, I'm sorry you are not feeling well. Take care of yourself! I enjoy a good scary movie or book, myself. I think it's because of the adrenaline rush of being scared that changes your brain chemistry. So if it helps distract you from your pain, I think it's harmless. I do the same.
Good too early in the morning to Everyone,
Roses5555, keep building that strength up. We all wish you a quick recovery to whatever is ailing you. Take care of you first.  Willie, it took me a minute, but I finally got the Ice picture joke. Very funny!
Well, I'm having a sleepless "day" now, so let me apologize for making this the first post in the Cafe today. But...I just can't help myself. I'd still drink it in a coffee emergency. Happy day, to everyone. Â

Rev
Hey Rev, I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but that picture just really made me glad of that fact. YUK!
Coffee's hot... Me not so much... Sure was great to see our Cricket made it through all that rain and floodin down yonder... It's still bad in some places!
Morning Willie... Rev... I just love to see folks here in ye ole cafe'...
Let me say... I still ain't smokin (cigs at least )... Ain't missin those killers either... I think THEY should be a sch 1 ... Known to be abused and no reddeeming factors! But they will slowly "choke" the life outta ya...
Well I may be "preachin to the choir" on that subject...
Hey I see Roses5555 popped through yesterday... I do hope she's ok and I haven't noticed Roses hasn't been around...
Hi Fire... Always good to see you pop in! I hope all that "drama" slows to a crawl.... Young girls can be quite the handful, to say the least!!
Okie dokie... Been spoutin my mouth off way too much this early...
Remember to love one another today and smile... It may be your time to shine...
I am sorry for your loss Harley... It's never easy losing a close pet... I have had outside dawgs and they were hard enough to get past, but having a pet with you everyday, inside... Well I would think it's like a child...

After I posted my Good Morning message I discovered my eldest cat had passed. Â She was diabetic and although not old, just shy of 9yrs she lived longer than the Vet projected. Â So today has been one of a lot of tears. Â I actually had a Vet appt setup for Thursday so I wasn't surprised, but yet I was.
Her baby sister is so distraught as I am, but I just feel so helpless in consoling her as she is just lost. Â They were so close and she is not a typical independent cat. Â When I went out today to take care of disposing her sister properly as I was walking out the door she sank her teeth into my jeans to pull me back. Â Heartbreaking to get her off. Â When I came home it was like she never moved from the same spot. Â For an hour or so after she laid on me and meowed continuously.
I am sure tonight will be long. Â I'm okay as I have been through this and know how to grieve, in my way. Â It's just so hard though trying to comfort my other little girl as this is a first for her and she can't tell me what she needs/wants.
I never got my coffee............................
I am heartbroken for you Harley. Loss of a dear pet is just as bad as the loss of a family member. They ARE family.
It's never an easy thing to go thru and only time will ease the pain and sorrow.
I totally understand how your other kitty is grieving her also. About a yr. ago I lost my 15 yr. old pup and my younger one STILL misses her. Every time I take the pups outside, she walks over to the end of my deck where I buried my baby and looks down at her grave. It's so sad to watch. Animals are not stupid and have feelings too.
Tonight I shall say a prayer for you and kitty.
Stay strong sista.

Ice
I feel so bad for all that have been effected in this terrible flooding down here. When you've been thru storms like Katrina and been flooded out, you know what those poor people are goin' thru. It's no fun at all.
I count my blessings that I had no problems this time. Luckily I'm not near any of the rivers that have been causing this mess. I'm on the west side of Slidell on the lake. Water got high, but not enough to cause any problems at all.
All the bad weather and flooding here in Louisiana remind me of the song Louisiana by Randy Newman. They ARE tryin' to wash us away.
Hurricanes, oil spills, floods. What will they throw at us next? Cajun Zombies? LOL

So sorry to hear about your loss Harley.
I have grown up with cats and dogs....In fact there has never been a day in my life without a cat and/ or dog being one of my closest companions (even when I didn't live with them, my old buddies would still love to see me when visiting mum or dad)
I know exactly how you feel.
