I know loraz is the preferred short acting benz that many docs don’t mind prescribing. My assumption for the reason is that I experienced more side effects , the ‘paradoxical’ ones that some who are scripted experience, and that in itself can be a deterrent for abuse in a way.
Many docs also believe that the relief of symptoms from a wider range of psychiatric conditions is larger compared to alps.
Alps give me practically zero side effects these days and loraz, to me, just didn’t feel right when I took them as prescribed years ago.
Both have the same dangers of dependence and it is a bummer that over the past decade of alps being the number 1 most popular for rec use obviously played its hand in the rarity that is now a legit script for generic alps.
Regardless, if loraz works for you and helps treat anyone’s symptoms better than others that’s great!
