I sometimes use VPNs but not with the expectation of total anonymity. It obscures who I am a little bit. My main motivation is that I sometimes bittorent movies/music. It just keeps me one step away from getting a legal letter and demand for money. If I was doing something seriously bad, LE would find me easily.
