Hey Audrey!
That's interesting (the weather part)
I've always been interested in weather in different parts of the world but I never knew there were areas in the US that were like the UK. I knew most places got cold in the winter and warm/ hot in the summer but never realised some places have '8 month winters' like us.
I guess it makes sense as the US covers a lot of area North to South.
Some places in the UK don't get 8 month winters (London for example) can get quite hot summers at 30oC plus (mid 80's to mid 90's in farenheite) and their winters, like their summers last about 3 months. So they enjoy a mild spring and Autumn too.
Basically they get normal seasons haha.
But where I'm from, a lot further North, we're lucky to get 18oC in summer (about 65oF)
Our summer is normally about 14oc - 17oc (high 50's to low 60's in fahrenheit), cloudy, windy and often wet and like you lasts the majority of the year.
Our summers last about 6 weeks, no joke!
I visited Phoenix and Vegas in summer a few years back, I'd love their weather!
