I'm sorry to hear about it this Slick. Indeed Fedex is private so they don't need a warrant to search mail like USPS does.
I don't have much experience with Fedex, so I can't give much more advice than that. I, too pray for you and your package. It seems this would be a really good time to cash in on the good karma you bring.
