But why are so many just Cryin' in the streets?  Maybe their free ride is over? I really would like to see positive change for America! But it may come with some being very unhappy the middle class has decided to stop paying for their laziness. I have worked hard for more than 45 yrs and would love to soon retire. Not wealthy or even have a padded life style.

Loads of my US friends are upset about Trump. Not so much that Hillary didn't win - most felt she was the wrong candidate for all kinds of reasons - but more about Trump's racism, sexism, etc. From outside the USA there is a lot of emphasis on his personality as erratic and him having authoritarian tendencies (I mean that in the psychological sense of the word, obviously he's not in office yet so we can't know).

I've heard a lot about hate crimes following the Trump win - I was glad to hear him condemn it. My friend's neighbour suggested that there would be a spike in hate crimes and then it would go back to the usual level. But then what is an acceptable amount of hate crime or prejudice?

It's sad to see America so divided. It really isn't good for a country to pull so far apart.

Remember after the brexit hate crimes were up here in the Uk,just over half voted leave,just under remain,seems we have even more in common with the US now,being a divided nation,but a lot of misinformation was puked out by many,mainly anti immigrant info,remember the Farage poster ad that seemed dubious or just out right hate towards immigrants.
all this talk of it being a vote against the establishment is rubbish,Farage-ex city of London banking merchant,loaded,Trump multibillionairre-loaded,hardly anti-establishment.
Be the same old game,thats how the elite want it,on their terms not ours,1% dictate and stay unimaginably rich to 99% and whos everyday life will still be struggle.
One day a decent party will get formed that is not backed by media mogels like Murdoch,we might start to see a better world,i fear i wont be around by the time that happens and this old network of the rich elite will crumble if its not torn apart.
