My last "2c worth" was worthless.
Yesterday, as a result of casually exploring the settings area of my cell phone, I was HORRIFIED to find the detail of browser search terms and location data being sent to Appl3 and GOOgle.
I even had apps sending info to their developers whilst the apps were (supposedly) switched off.
This has led me to entirely rethink my post of 20 Jan.
The vast majority of my time on the web is spent harmlessly wandering around sites that I would happily share with anyone.
However, I'm not particularly thrilled to have my ISP and/or GOOgl3 tracking how many times I've visited IOPList's treasured vendor's sites.
Yes - BB can get me any time they like, but yesterday I was alerted to a whole lot of innocent looking app developers who could justifiably be described as 'Little Brothers' .
As of now I am using the TOR browser to visit sites of the sensitive kind. (In fact, this post is coming from Down Under, via France, via Russia, via Germany.
)
And my next move will be to look back through this thread for pointers on encrypted email.
My, how my '100% certain that I'm right' attitude has changed......by about 180'
Bowing down to the Elders in homage... again !

There's a difference between having an opinion and having an informed opinion.
