Klonopin not as effective after eating?
#21
I know this topic has been thoroughly discussed already, but wanted to add the only medication I’ve noticed doesn’t seem to work when I take it with food is x@n@x. For some reason, if I’ve eaten then take one, it’s like I may as well have taken nothing at all, as it has no effect on me then.

Years ago I used them and usually took them between meals because of what you mention. I've been on a long time regiment of daz after dinner and works fine, for me. Same exact effect every evening. Recently I had to try clon and they're just as effective with a full stomach, quite happy about that.

I think everything except vitamins is best on an empty stomach, something to due with acidity. Anything that has to due with dissolving on the tongue shouldn't be followed by coffee or tea as it can neutralize the pH in the mouth as well.

This past week, due to my schedule, I had to take my fish oil supplement (3 tabs, 4.2g omega-3s total) alongside my clonz for the day.

After 30 minutes I had to sit and got stuck with computer stuff because I didn't trust my legs/muscles enough to walk around without looking like I drank a 5th before going into work. This has not happened to me with any benz in YEARS. I have never tried this combination simultaneously and my tolerance at the time was relatively high.

I've never read any research articles looking at rates of absorption or metabolism of benzies when taken with a high dose of omega-3,-6 fatty acids, DHA, etc (from fish oil) but may have stumbled upon something. The clonz that day were absolutely more effective (same ol' batch). It's been 5 days since I took them together and now every dose I take is on an empty stomach with 3 tabs of fish oil. For ME, adding fish oil into the mix has made the medicine more effective.

I highly doubt this is a placebo effect as I had no prior expectations that day of what would happen if I took my fish oil and medicine together.

The fish oil I purchase is by Spring Valley and 1.4g omegas per tab.

Just wanted to add that I'm not mistaking this effect with some equivalent of a 'high fat meal' around med time - too many years of experience.

Benzos are essentially the same. Sure there are subtle differences but they all hit harder and better on an empty stomach since their is less in the stomach for the medicine to conpete with.
