Important information about COVID-19 Economic Impact Payments
#1

The Department of Treasury (Treasury), not Social Security, will make automatic
Economic Impact Payments. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will
generally receive the automatic payments by direct deposit, Direct Express debit card,
or by paper check, just as you would normally receive your monthly benefit payment.

SSI recipients will receive their automatic Economic Impact Payments directly from
the Treasury Department. Treasury anticipates these automatic payments will go out
no later than early May.

SSI recipients with no qualifying children do not need to take any action to receive their
$1,200 Economic Impact Payments. The payments will be automatic.

By taking proactive steps to enter information on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
website about you and your qualifying children, you will receive the $500 per
dependent child payment in addition to the $1,200 individual payment.

If qualifying SSI recipients do not provide their information to the IRS soon,
the $500 payment per qualifying child will be delayed.
People with Direct Express debit cards who enter information at the IRS’ website,

should complete all of the mandatory questions, but they may leave the
bank account information section blank as Treasury already has their
Direct Express information on file.

Is there anyone on SSI here still waiting? I was told it was going to come around the same time the SSI gets deposited, but my grandmother still has not received hers and they get direct deposited into her checking. She doesn’t have or know how to work a phone or computer, so I’m trying to help her. I went to their website and put her info in, but it comes up as No information found etc. Thanks for the reminder ICE, with the deadline coming I’m wondering if there’s a different route I can go to enter her info and ensure she doesn’t miss out.

I did not receive either. and i get direct deposit of my disability which converts to survivor benefits. And my son is far older than fifteen or seventeen. But, no, no stimulus for quite a few of us in NY area. And I did the online thing to check my payment. And it said what many get: we are not sure u r entitled to benefits. But that was like the third message.

Apparently by end of may, many of us will receive. but new ones are going out for the next month, it is possible.

One can check the IrS no filers form. But it did not work for many of us in my area. Feds stated they fixed the tool. dunno. I get the feeling it is still gonna be a wait.

If i find anything out, shall let u know.
