Thursday, the conservative-dominated Supreme Court struck down New York’s handgun permit requirement, a century-old common-sense safety measure that keeps guns out of the hands of people who pose a threat to our city. It is a dangerous and unjustified decision, but sadly not a surprising one.
yeah and they struck down Roe V. Wade.
I expect a great deal of chaos in NY today.

And your handgun controls absolutely sucked. get real. You turned NYC and its suburbs into a walk thru hell.
I remember reading obamas last words. only words i read by him. That he would make westchester and esp scarsdale an integrated area.
Nah, he took communities and they are all black now. And they come into the areas wherein whites are not expecting people having knives and guns on the neighborhood streets.
And now obama lives in a totally white area.

If the conservative justices have their way they would love to ban same sex marriage. The evangelical Christian movement in this country has a lot more organization than the democrats.
Our only voice in this is to vote.

With Roe v Wade
I don’t know much about US law but doesn’t it just push it back to the States? Isn’t it a good thing in that it’s now now more democratic? Small government? Elected officials deciding?
My understanding would be if the people of the state want different then they could vote for different officials to represent them?
Forgive me if I’m wrong?
I thought it was bringing it back to the states instead of having big federal order.
I mean maybe people like that. I’m open to that. I just am presuming people are for smaller rulings.
Definitely need to stop presuming.
Also the orriginal Roe v Wade was supposed to be rare and abortion on demand is more being campaigned for now. Perhaps they need a new bill if that is what women want? Just ideas. Not making a judgement just ideas.
I live in Aus. I was under the understanding that USA was a collection of States
Is this still the case? The states governing themselves is still supposed to be a thing isn’t it? That’s the whole point of USA isn’t it? Or am I poorly informed international lol

Problem is the states that are making abortion illegal the people that will suffer are the ones That can’t afford to go to another state for an abortion. employers don’t offer paid family leave. It’s also gross Invasion of privacy to have to explain to your employer you need several days off (unpaid at that) to get an abortion what happened to HIPAA laws. I live in a blue state (democratic) I have a friend that at almost 17 weeks was forced to terminate her pregnancy for her own health even in a blue state
She wound up with so many complications she can no longer carry a child. How many women will die because of lack of resources in their state or measures they take on their own to determine what to do with their own bodies.
I know this is a heated topic and i usually come here to get away from the stress of life. If my point of view upsets anyone im sorry.
