When to use Wen Shampoo Products
#1
More than 200 women have joined a class-action lawsuit against the popular WEN all-natural hair products, claiming the sulfate-free shampoo and conditioners made their hair fall out.

Created by celebrity stylist Chaz Dean, WEN hair products are boosted as a natural alternative to regular shampoos. The products clean hair without using damaging sulfates, a chemical compound used to separate dirt and oil from hair or skin, and according to the product’s website, “It takes the place of your shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner.”

Unfortunately, according to a large number of women from multiple U.S. states, the only results they saw from using WEN products was severe hair loss. BuzzFeed News reported that one user noticed hair loss after just one wash. In addition to hair loss, many women claim that WEN products have caused multiple injuries to their head and scalp, such as rashes, scalp irritation, hair breakage, and hair discoloration. One angry customer claimed that she had to quit her job as a professional model after she started using WEN products. “After using this product my scalp and face broke out in boils and my hair fell out in chunks. This shampoo destroyed my life,” she wrote on a product review, as reported by The Daily Beast.

According to the court papers, the company was aware of the unpleasant side effect and still failed to warn users. And although it’s true that many WEN users are happy with their results and praise the products, a simple peruse of Amazon will show that a large amount of users also complained that the hair products caused them to lose large volumes of hair dating back many years. According to Kelsey Smart, a stylist at Fox & Jane salon in New York the reason for the mixed reviews may have to do with WEN’s effect on different hair types.

“WEN seems to be good for certain hair types, especially those that are coarse or frizzy,” Smart, told The Daily Beast. “But for women with fine hair, it becomes more important for the scalp to stay really clean — otherwise, product can build up and lead to breakage.”

In response to the claims and the lawsuit, Joe Hixson, a spokesperson for Wen told BuzzFeed News that the complaints only represent a small fraction of its customers. “[We] intend to vigorously contest the allegations made against our products,” said Hixson.

Unfortunately, baldness in women is a complicated health issue, which means it could be difficult to prove in court that WEN definitely led to these women’s hair loss. WebMD claims that everything from genetics to certain medications can lead to female hair loss. Nonetheless, a lawyer for the plaintiff told The Daily Beast that at the moment, the parties are attempting to settle their differences outside of court.

OMG! I have frizzy hair and was wanting to try Wen!! I didn't like the idea of having to sign up for a subscription, so I didn't do it.

FWIW, coconut oil is a terrific hair conditioner.

u, also? lord have mercy, we all were falling for it.

the company claims, in its defense, although they revealed none of the known research, that on course or frizzy hair the product works. on fine hair, it will cause the scalp to be unclean. and lead to more breakage.

not with a ten foot pole. I had long hair except when I was actively practicing law. being so sick for so many years, my hair only started growing again long recently.

those dagnabbit commercials remind me of better days. it sounded reasonable.

and, I now have longer hair again.

lord have mercy. once, when 15, I failed to get to my hair dresser. or to buy the products at a local salon. so, I foolishly used Loreal Preference. one time. for roots.

that day, I had 14 inches of my hair break off. needless to state, my preference is no longer Loreal Preference.

with all we are concerned with our health, our members health, our illnesses, I was less thrilled with that endeavor.

MEN: please note, that on the market is a product for men. It dyes a man's hair jet black. Just for Men, it is deemed.

A year before me father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, due to migraines, me father kept an ice patch on his left eye when he awakened daily to migraines. Suddenly, we are told the cornea just disintegrated in his left eye. I do investigations as I was my family caregiver. I needed to know why.

Turns out, that usage of that God forsaken comb for men to dye their hair, coupled with the ice pack every nite for migraines, was causing the ice pack to melt. Drops of the black dye went into my father's eye.

His cornea totally disintegrated. Now, being both attorneys, and a sister whom was past president of three NYC radiology hospitals, we were all concerned.

So many errors occur in medical malpractice cases. He was scheduled for a corneal transplant. Now, he and I know that doctors and nurses mess up, and remove the good eye all the time

so, we were gonna circle in non permanent marker the eye he was to have a new cornea. We were actually putting an X on his good eye.

However, he was then diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. So, we did not do the corneal transplant.

But, just even men know that the ever present black hair dyes for men are dangerous also.

Black dye is far more carcinogenic than blonde dye.

Its's a dangerous world out there. Be careful all.

It just goes to show you the power of the media. They can convince you of anything.
I've always said, we no longer think for ourselves. We let the media form our opinions on everything. We need to do our own research on things and stop allowing the media and government to do our thinking for us. They lie to us ALL of the time.
