Good Sunday Morning, Everyone
B2G, you know I going to need to see those cute little chick-a-Dees when u get a chance. They sound adorable.
Poor Linville, don't lose your landscaping. Im pretty sure we've lost three tall bushes to the wind last night. I always try to tie them together, but it never seems to take. I hate to kill anything. Except something accidental from last night.
I'll give you the short version. I was working on my diet last night with a bag of m&ms that were placed on top of my refrigerator the night before, while fervently talking on the phone in the dark. I got down to the bottom of the bag, and I feel something weird on my hands. So, I put the phone down and turn on the light...
Ants, hundreds of them, IN THE BAG! I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY I ATE! AND their brothers were climbing up my arms and into my sweater holes!Â
You have never seen me run to the shower so fast in your life. I suppose I could use the extra protein in my diet.  Â
I hope that got someone here to smile today. I have NO idea where those little critter came from.Â
Love,
Rev

They were peanut m&m, so I didn't notice a crunch or anything. I showered until the water went cold. Lol

Revolution - I can see you running for the shower now. Not fun when it happened, but glad you have a sense of humor about it.
Reminds me of the time I went camping and somehow ended up with these tiny deer ticks all over my legs. Now that was truly horrifying.
Good morning, friends!

OMG Revolution, when you were telling your story and got to the point of Ants, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY I ATE....you got me to LOL and also think at same time I should not, but I know that eating ants especially chocolate cover are a delicacy....some places...I know I know not in your house...
No idea how many you ate, OMG LOL...
Gosh sorry you did that but thank you for making my mood get better with the way you told your story.....no disrespect meant....but how you delivered the, to the point lines, well YOU DID make me smile, thanks I needed it too....just was getting myself going to being downcast so you not being afraid to laugh at something you did was great.
Now let me tell you a funny on myself.
It was lunch time at work and we have a communal refrigerator where I had my salad stored for lunch.
I got it out and the shredded cheese put on the salad and started eating well near the end I noticed that the cheese had mold on it, ....Oh Great I have been eating cheese with mold on it mixed in with all my salad goodies.....thinking all the time oh how delish this salad is.....(funny eh.)
So I call down to the dispensary medical dept and ask the nurse how sick will I be getting before I can think about it and she with out laughing at me says it will not hurt me.
Oh and Revolution I dont think I had any wind damage except the blast from me LOL reading your funny story.
Thank you for your post.Â

Whew. You know the old saw about being only as old as you feel? Well, if it is true, then I'm very, very old.
I used to work for ranchers in Sequin and Lampasas, TX during June and July of my University summer breaks (football two-a-day practices started in August, so I only had two months to make some extra spending money for the coming school year). Almost all the work I did was fencing and repair work on barns and tool sheds - Putting up new fencing of all kinds, cattle fences built with wood and electrified wire or barbed wire, wooden fences for pig pens, and wire enclosures for ostrich, emu, and of course chicken enclosures, and simple carpentry on wooden buildings. Those were long, hot days, working with two or three Mexicans who were seemingly tireless, but after a couple of summers I got used to it, and it beat the hell out of the roughnecking on offshore rigs that many of my friends took on for summer work - Roughnecking paid better, but spending two months on an offshore drilling platform would have driven me insane.
I spent most of this weekend rebuilding the chicken pen from the ground up - We've lost five birds over the last four months to foxes, opossums, raccoons, and chicken hawks, and with 50-plus new birds expected to join the 26 we have now, it needed to be made both bigger and more secure - So my wife & tore down everything but the three secure dog pens we've turned into roosts for the birds to spend nights in - Took down the roof supports, pulled up the old posts, tore down all the chicken wire fencing, and started over, clearing another quarter acre of our lot adjacent to the quarter acre we had previously fenced in, putting in new, thicker posts, framing a new roof, and stringing high-gauge wire fencing that will be much more critter-proof than the simple chicken wire we used when we originally built the run for the walls and roof. We even poured concrete around the bottom of the entire fenced-in enclosure so that nothing can dig its way under.  Back in the day I could have done that and then showered and gone to a nightclub, but at this moment I feel as if I'm made of rubber bands, and not even an 800mg Ibuprofen is doing much good an hour after I took it - My back is a mess.
The only plan I can come up with, now that I've showered and eaten a couple of tuna sandwiches is to consume as much Miller High Life (don't laugh, beer snobs - It was on sale for $7.99 a 12-pack) as I can while laid out in my recliner, add 10mg of Valium to my 15mg of Temazepam when 10PM comes around, and hope my back feels better in the morning - I dread having to go in for more epidurals, even though I'm three weeks overdue for them, those suckers hurt.
OK, finished whinging now. Have a wonderful remainder of your Sunday all, and don't stress about work until you get there tomorrow. All things in their time.
Best,
- b2g

Morning all,
Rev, that ants story was just the funniest - feel bad about laughing and I do hope you washed any stragglers off of you successfully, but the additional detail about the crunch just had me on the floor.
Linville, you need to live in France where I reckon the majority of the cheese has mould on it and is supposed to! My kids are terrified of mould actually, but I've been known to cut it off the crusts of bread and eat the non-mouldy rest of the slice. Oh dear, should I have shared that?
A comment on something else on my mind - on other forum websites right now, people have started really attacking each other and distrusting each other because of a situation regarding two vendors in a part of the world with postal difficulties. Some of you will know who I am talking about, vendor-wise. It is horrible to read posts when people are calling each other out for alleged lying; really upsetting. I am so glad to be back here where people are supportive and kind to each other. Whatever happens outside of here, we can hold on to that, we really can and must - it is beyond precious.
Ice, your spell without cigarettes is really inspirational. I keep thinking, if Ice can do it, so can I! Let's see me finally get there now.
A big hello to Roses - missed you.
And to others not already mentioned - Fire, Harley, Willie, IS, Audrey, Back2Good and all. Have good days.

Rose - The difference between the forum you mention and this one is like night and day, isn't it? No moderators over there, and the Admins only appear on occasion to clean up unwanted information from one particular thread...Most of the forum members are acting like rabid coyotes right now lashing out at each other, the Admins, the vendor, even the entire country of origin, comparing it to far, far worse countries on the same continent. I'm not one who would be able to easily slip from one persona to others on different forums - I'm too verbose in my writing (a nasty habit acquired by having to be thorough and accurate in the reports I submit to executive management at work for 30 years now, it has bled over into everything I write), so it wouldn't take long to identify me regardless of what handle I chose or age / sex I purported to be, so my handle there is the same as my handle here - And I am appalled at the zoo without zookeepers that place has become.
Thank God for this forum, and for threads like this one that pull a community together completely independent of our various afflictions and the medications we need. I have so enjoyed meeting so many of you here, so many, many fine people with so many stories to tell and updates on their lives to provide - I told Zander it would only a matter of time before I became hopelessly engaged in the lounge, and here I am with dozens of new friends, eager to read their non-IOP related updates every day.
Anyway: To all a good morning and a tolerable (I won't even try "happy") Monday, and a great week ahead. Chick pictures coming today, and in the days to come I'll try to feature a picture of each of our adult chickens - They are pets more than anything, and each has it's own name and personality.

B2G... Again you've summed up the entire reason I only visit this particular site... Honesty.. Trust... And above all, the people we have here...
We have Charon and Admin to thank for stepping up and creating an enviroment that anybody can feel free to ask questions and recieve the help and understanding that is lacking or non-exsistant in other forums.. Not to mention our "spectacular" medical field...
Also, I know what you mean about different personas on different sites... I can't/won't keep up with all that noise!! It's exactally what I said some months ago, if you check out my posts from year to year, I don't change much and to top that off, I'm the same IRL... I have never felt the need to be something I'm not... I give info based on what I know... I don't lie about stuff and just want the same in return... Is that too much to ask?? Seems it is these dayz... Geeze...
Alright... I wasn't going into a rant
So good to have you with us B2G.... Great minds are always appreciated here...
