Gah! Been up since 5:30 with my kiddos! So, somehow I guess I'm running on fumes. I had some delicious coffee this morning, but may need more. For some reason I keep saying to myself that I should quit coffee (the caffeine doesn't do much to wake me up...) and I'm sure all the cream and sugar I dump in isn't great. But I just love the taste. Tea just doesn't cut it! Anyway good afternoon or in some cases, to some people, good morning!

Wow. A couple of friends and I felled 5 tall pines today, bucked them up and trucked them over to a growing burn pile. I am feeling it now; sore from my head to my toes. It feels so good to relax with this cup of coffee. Trying to get some work in ahead of the forecasted rain that is supposed to land here in New England tomorrow night and continue through Mothers' Day. I can't believe that 6 months ago I had a total knee replacement. I never could have done this stuff last spring. I hope everyone else had a good day! ciao - dc.

So, here it is the 14th of May, and I woke up to about 1/2 inch of slush on the ground.  I don't remember having frozen precipitation that stuck this late in the season for a long time, maybe never, at this elevation in New England (approx. 1200 ft).  Of course, it is long gone now, but still.
