Klonopin not as effective after eating?
#11
Also you can negate the whole full-empty stomach debate entirely because most benzos, clon in particular, are approved for sublingual

Been taking Rivotril daily for 15 years now and can honestly say food has no impact on speed of absorption or effectiveness at all.

For me, 100% on an empty stomach makes any benzo that I have been put on feel twice as potent than if taken on a full stomach.
I actually try to avoid eating after as well as before taking the medication, it may be in my head, but I feel when I eat after taking the benzo medication the food has almost a sobering up effect.

Yes, every study that I have ever seen...included the unbiased ones...say that sub-L is the way to go for benzo's (or any other lipid-soluble med). A few years back, West-ward Pharms had a wafer-like form of Ativan available, kind of like one a breath strip. Probably same absorption rate as just going the conventional sub-L route, though.

Agree, Rafterman.  The leaflet provided with my clon@zep@m prescription recommends taking it on an empty stomach, but I've been Sub-L'ing benz@ prescriptions for at least ten years, since I first read research demonstrating the effectiveness of the method.  Not always the greatest taste (especially alpr@z), but certainly effective regardless of when one last ate.

Even generic clon@zep@m, thank goodness, tastes a bit minty.

I'm with you, OB. My benzo's go sub-L, or they don't go at all. I have gotten used to the bitter taste, as I believe my mind began to associate bitterness with the relief that is on the way. But I can't argue with the idea that minty would be nice!  RM

most drugs willmwork best on an empty stomach, however a hot sweet drink will make this work quicker.
However due to the make up of particular dugs some rely on part that there is fat lipids in your body. i will use layamans terms. Without the storage of the drug molecules in the fat lipds. They are excreted from the body for quick quicker. Oxycodone and OxyContin are an example. It is recommended you take them on my name distilment Cornwall and then 40 minutes later have a slighly fatty meal. this will ensure that the medication works as quick as possible it stays in your blood plasma levels for far quicker than getting excreted quickly. I research this many times does work .
