invisiblejungle, buttons27, willie33, kristof, and Pliko, please forgive my replying to you all at once...New users are limited to five posts in a 24-hour period, so I'm having to use mine sparingly. Thank you all for your kind welcome, it means the world to me. Not that I'm a shut-in or disabled, but I live alone, and my interactions with the world at large are limited to the unemployment office, the grocery store, and the gas station, so making new friends on-line is a new and enjoyable experience for me, I'm humbled by your reaching out to a new person.
invisiblejungle, you couldn't be more correct. I suffered a seizure at the end of September (when I lost my job and my health insurance coverage, and could no longer refill the 90 @lpr@zol@m per month I had been prescribed for fifteen years (60 per month two years prior to that)), one moment I was replacing the mailbox post in front of my home, and the next I woke up in an ambulance with an EMT asking me questions. Upon arriving at the hospital I found I had a broken nose, a broken wrist, and three broken ribs. My next door neighbor witnessed the entire thing, she tells me I simply stiffened, hit my right arm with my left fist several times, then pitched face first into the street, it's a wonder I didn't do more damage. The attending neurologist at the hospital recommended Di@zep@m as an anti-seizure measure when I told him I refused to take an SSRI (they make me feel like a zombie, I've been on Zoloft and Lex@pro in the past, and simply could not stand them), he is apparently not a fan of Clon@zep@m. Of course, when he discovered I had no insurance, he didn't bother to write me a prescription.

Ouch indeed, Mad Max :-) Until September 2017 I managed 55 years on this earth without breaking my nose or breaking any ribs, I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone. My nose feels fine now (although it bends to the left, which will take some getting used to), and I'll be able to stop wrapping my ribs at the end of this month, they no longer cause me any pain either. Now, if I can just manage to find the medication the attending neurologist recommended, but didn't write, this constant fear of a repeat seizure won't be a bother. Lord knows all I need is to secure a new job and take a face dive in the break room on my first day of work :-)

For my fifth and last post for this 24-hour period, I just want to thank all of you who prayed for me, cast a light around me, or whatever other measure of kindness you bestowed upon me. My unemployment insurance determination finally came in the mail today (after five weeks of jumping through the State's hoops), and thanks be to the heavens, I am eligible for UI payments. It is no windfall, mind you, the weekly maximum here is $330.00, and once they've taxed it, closer to $277.00, but I have the mortgage paid off until the end of February, 2018, and the five weeks of payments they owe me will keep the lights, electricity, Internet, and all important Amazon Prime TV and Netflix up and running while I seek new employment.
One has to count small blessings as well as big ones, and I have two to account for this week, this community, and a meager, but survivable income stream. I was honestly dreading having to borrow money from my children, but that indignity, at least, I've been spared. It will no doubt be a week, if not two, before I am able to avail myself of an IOP's services (I am already getting "zaps" in my brain, a classic sign of impending seizure), so forgive me if I do post five times daily until I'm able to join the ranks of you who have access to friends down South who deliver quickly, I don't think I will have the luxury of waiting for magazines that may take a month to arrive due to the holiday mail volume. In any event, if you spared a thought for me, I'm eternally grateful, especially to IceWizard and Charon, who provided kind guidance regarding the five post rule, and have been more than welcoming to a newcomer. Happy day after Thanksgiving my new friends, I hope yours was as uplifting as mine.

Glad to hear that small blessings came your way. There are many quality vendors here for the specific products you need. Am I correct in assuming that you had to quit cold-turkey after 15 years due to losing coverage? That is unbelievable!
