Thank you very much Mad Max & Fireplaces. Your words comfort & help me.

Fire, I have seen commercials on tv for the new meds that you take with your antidepressant. Those sound promising. I would like to try one. Your advice is spot on, it's just making myself do those things is my problem. But I must try...

Yesterday was awful. I couldn't make myself leave the house & there wasn't much on tv so I just sat here thinking of my dad.

I know that's the worst thing I can do but I just gave in to my bad feelings.

I am determined to do something today. My sister suggested we go to Yankee Candle for their big sale. I just don't know if I can. I have a book by a favorite author but I haven't been able to concentrate. Or I can tackle my flower garden.

I'm going to try.

Thanks again everyone for listening.

I hope you all have a good day.
Hi Rose.

I hope you are able to go on the drive today with your sister.

It has just been such a drastic sudden change for you.

Im sorry about that.

But yes, try you must and then try again until you can recover as you have said that your dad would want.

Enjoying the things you once did. I can relate to you so never feel alone.

Yes good advice from Fire about doing the things before you feel like it so that it takes hold again.

It will take time Rose, so don't get down on yourself too much, Okay.

your friend
Linville
Hello Rose . Every day in life there are two days you are not able to do nothing to change anything. Yesterday because it is already the past and tomorrow cause it is not in your hand yet. So it is only today that is the real opportunity to live, take joy from what you like, and do something for yourself and those you love.
Yes of course, Fire is right Rose , it is okay to mourn.

The time for people can vary, so do not feel down on yourself for it.

Not at all.

Good of you to post Nick.

And Rose on this holiday that you spent so many with your Dad and then shared on the forum with us I am thinking of all the memories you have and I hope they bring a smile to your face remembering them.

That is a special thing that not everyone has, but you do. And that is a good thing.
Good Morning All...

Thanks so much for your words Linville, Nick & Fireplaces. You all make perfect sense.

As Linville pointed out 4th of July was always fun since my dad would always have a cookout. So yesterday was rough on me. We didn't celebrate at all. It's still too raw & painful. But like you say Linville I have wonderful memories. I hold onto those.

My sister & I took the drive to the mall to the Yankee Candle Sale. The drive was nice but I had trouble getting into sniffing all the different fragrant candles. Which isn't like me since I love fragrances & I tend to burn them just about everyday. It's sort of like aromatherapy. Anyway I did get some & all in all I'm glad I went.

I plan to get outside & try to read in the sun. I usually am quite tan but not this summer. So II am hoping for some color so I don't look so pale. I hope I can concentrate.

Thanks again friends for listening, it seems to help.
I love Yankee Candles, I have a huge stock. Whenever they go on sale I stock up. I like choosing what I want to smell for the day.
I hope you have a good book that can keep your attention to keep your mind occupied for a little while at least.
Enjoy the sunshine.
Hugs.
Roses,

I don't have any wisdom to impart, but you are a wonderful friend and I am still praying for your peace. Heart

Roses - Just wanted you to know I was thinking about you as I lit a Yankee Candle today and hoped it sent a little whisper to you. Hugs.
Roses,

I am so very sorry about your loss.. We are NEVER ready to let go of our loved ones, especially the ones that raise us ... I lost a 100 year old Gmother last May followed by my Mother in Aug. .. The felling was so intense I could barely stand it ...

Luckily I had the support of, not only my sweet little SO, but the folks here .. They have been a Godsend to me and I in turn would love to pass that comfort on to you... Here you are loved unbiased .. We all are here for you in these trying times ... JUst know you are in our hearts and minds forever ... We will continue to put you in our prayers and just love you ...

If I can ever help you in anyway, I will be honored to help ...

May God be with you in these dark days and know the light is just ahead ...

I wanted to let you all know that my dad passed away Thursday afternoon.  My sister & I were at his side when he died.

I am beyond devastated & don't know how to go on without him.

I don't believe that he suffered at the end.  They kept him well medicated so that he wasn't in pain.

The hospice nurses were a Godsend.  They wanted my dad to go to the hospice house towards the end but we kept him home as he wished.

I am lost without him since I spent so much time with him.

This forces me to make major changes in my life.

I want to thank you all so much for your prayers & words of encouragment.

You all helped me get through this & I won't ever forget how kind you all are.
Hi Roses.

I just wanted you to know that you are not forgotten !

I hope the summer warmth can give you some too, and I hope that you are able to put your hands on some of those beautiful gardens you have.

Take care Rose. We here shall never forget you as you have many friends here, including me. This is for you Roses
