There is an excellent documentary on Netflix called "The FeelGood Doctor".

It's about the doc who had no qualms about prescribing Oxy in huge quantities to those who needed them and those who scammed him.

Very fair, insightful, thoughtful and disturbing.

Interviews with the Doc himself, DEA, cops, real patients, scam patients, wife, daughter, lawyers, colleagues. Well worth anyone's time.

Sounds like my old  doctor, who  was responsible for getting me and many others, including some  close friends, loaded for years and when it began to be an issue with 
me and many others aswell. Long story short once people starting getting strung out 
he cut me off washed his hands of me and everyone else. He took an early retirement 
and skiped town. I'm  definitely going to check out that Documentary

a reminder to us all...........Linville's above post was my yesterday's experience.

During a local walk yesterday...not having the energy to go to "my" forest....am having some physical issues...probably from aging....feeling kinda low and little depressed......I went through a local high school on my alternative hike.....not one, but two strangers went out of their way to say a cheery "hi" to me.......really helped my spirits and reminded me how such small acts of kindness can really make a difference....got a little energy boost and got me away from self commiseration......friendliness is good medicine

I payed it forward with some cheery "hi's" to others along my walk.

Glad to hear u found some help along the way, popster. Feel better.

It is so true, and to pay it forward is so cool. 

But to be able to be the giver the initiator of it is even more cool.    

To be the one that lifts a downed spirit back up to a happy place, well,  it is one of the things life is all about, IMO. 

Thanks again for a down to earth real live story of how simple things can be big things. A cool thing !
